Single vending pull rod lockup

I have an older single rear load vending unit that the pull handle locks up when you pull to vend. It seems to click 2-3 times then locks up? What would I look for to fix the problem? I’ve tried two coin mech’s and bench testing works great? I can't seem to find anything on this site or online. Pic below of the unit. Chip at Laurel said this unit is not his so I don't really know who the manufactured them. Thanks in advance.

Start by watching this video. When my vendor had a problem, I went online and watched the video then ordered the correct parts from KleenRite and installed them and fixed it that way.

Any ideas why it would bench test fine then when installed fail?

The screws you have in it are probably too long. When you pull the knob, the bar behind it needs to move forward.

MEP, I think you just nailed it. Last week I replaced the screws and that may be the issue I caused. I will check it out tomorrow but have a strong feeling that's it. Thanks for your keen eye and knowledge! Boy do I feel dumb...
