I have been conducting a little survey on self serve chemicals that have a pleasant aroma. Going by washes and sniffing around you might say. I am kind of surprised at the number of places that have so little smell that it's non existant. I thought that with times being hard, operators would make sure their products would help keep customers coming in. Either many operators don't care, or don't know enough to be concerned. Even some top brand names were just color. Yes, smell doesn't mean that it cleans better, I know that. Since I got tired of driving and sniffing, and ran low on quarters, I thought this a much better place to see what's out there. Those who have pleasant aromas with your chemicals, please say who you are using. If you don't think it matters, please say that also. By a noticable aroma, I mean that by walking by a bay that's in use it's detectable from 20 feet away.

I agree that scent is important. The products I am using allow me to choose the fragrance and adjust the strength without adjusting cleaning and foaming characteristics. I have Cherry presoak, bubblegum triple foam, lemon-lime tire cleaner and tropical foam brush.

My tire cleaner is minty, wax is cherry. I add strawberry to the foam brush. The presoak is too strong to hold a fragrance, but it smells pleasant without being an identifiable fragrance. Bay soap is powder and unscented.

The best cleaning soaps I found were from Stoner. I dont use them for one reason only: because I cant smell them. I asked if they could add more scent, even if it was custom for me; they said no.
For all soaps Ive tried, I had to use them at a higher concentration to get good scent. Kinda ticks me off, but I think a good strong scent is important, so I do it.

At the moment I'm using mostly KR soaps, they smell good & strong. I'm quite pleased with their cleaning ability too.

Red, I buy JBS fragrance additive from Windtrax. I add to the cherry wax to amp it up and use twice the amount specified in the foam brush to get the strong scent I want. The extra cost is negligible.

I am using Qual-Chem products. They allow you to add scent and color at the strength you want using a 4 port eductor on your hydrominder. You can also adjust the foaming and cleaning ability independantly.

KBS Film Buster: Citrus (avg strength of smell)
JBS Mighty White (lemon & avg scent)
Glow Foams : Chery (all avg scent)
JBS Fonic: Clean scent & it is like a weak laundry softener smell
KR Deep Blue: Pina Colada & it actually smella pretty good & works good.

I used KR Just Peachy & it smelled great, beqded water like crazy, was cheap & customera lived it. But I'll be danged if I couldn't get itnto quit making that anti-freeze coolant green drip. Would freak me & customers out, so had to drop it.
