We have always used soft water for every application in our automatics. We are installing new equipment today and the distributor suggested that we use hard water for our high pressure rinse cycle, using soft water for the final spot free rinse. Our water here is fairly hard, maybe 28 grains. Thoughts?

Hard water rinse. True Spot Free should be low tds Reverse osmosis water (RO). Soft water will still spot.

Input city water is 340 ppm output on our RO machine is 7ppm

What do you do with your waste from your spot free make? It’s softened, dechlorinated and good water. I put mine up in holding tanks above the automatic and gravity feed it for all HP functions which don’t use chemical. Waste not.

All of my car wash water is softened. I could be wrong but at some point it seems like if there were too many grains of hardness at the locality ... it could cause more maintenance on the high pressure pumps???
