Spray in bedliner on steel doors

I have a walk in steel door in my automatic bay that I have to paint every year and even then the rust keeps coming back through. I was wondering how a spray in bed liner product such as herculiner would work. Has anyone tried this? If so did it keep the rust away? What brand did you use?

If it works on doors. I wonder what it would do on a selfserve bay wall?

I tried it a few years back on the IBA dryer stand. I ground off the rust blisters
and cleaned it up first. it worked really well, but in a really wet location will need some touch up every year or so. Most of the solutions are poly or fiberglass doors- Not alot of security unless you build a steel door behind it. Rust is almost impossible to stop.

I don't think it will make a difference. The doors are going to rust out from the inside. If you want to do it right, remove the door and take off the hardware and hinges. Tape up all the holes except one and pour some primer inside. Use the stuff with phosphoric acid. The coat the outside with the same stuff, and then paint with any quality paint.

FWIW, I took the ramp off my dog wash tub and built a set of stairs using treated lumber and put 2 coats of herculiner on and it has held up wonderfully. It has only been a couple of months, but I was real impressed with the product.

Got tired of replacing a steel door to my Tunnel so I replaced it with a poly one several years ago. Looks like it will last forever.
