I have an older wash that I need to do some masonry work on. I need to replace an entire section of concrete blocks. Unfortunately the original blocks are colored and not available any more. I was thinking of using concrete stain to match the blocks as close as I can. I have no experience with concrete stain. I am looking for input from people with concrete stain experience. Does the stain hold up in a carwash environment? Do you think this is something I can match pretty close? Any recommendations on types or brands of stains?

I have used a stain from Home depot on brick where it looked like the white color had leached out from the water and solutions migrating out thru the walls - looks great. I would not do it inside the bays or tunnel. A waste of time and effort. For that it's FRP.

I've seen concrete stain used in a car wash - it holds up great on a driveway or a patio but the constant water and chemicals will definitely remove it.

I agree with Earl & Meo001. We had stained block. Looked good for a while. Use FRP

I was just looking at staining the outside of the block. Anyone got any brands/types they recommend?

I will find out the Brand I used from Home Depot. I think it was their Behr Brand but I will check.

I stained the block on my wash several years ago. It really gave the place an updated look. The stain (NOT paint) was purchased at Sherwin Williams.

I agree with Rudy. Go with Sherwin Williams and stay away fropm the big box stores. You might pay a little more but they usually know what they are doing.

I've been staining the exterior block on the building for years with the Sherwin Williams product. Works great due to never peeling like paint over time. But I would never recommend staining the interior bay walls.
