The brass hose barbs on my presoak system last about 1-1/2 years and they always seem to wear out at the worst time. I'm thinking of swapping to stainless hose barbs - does that mean I need to go with stainless Ts and couplings too?

I don't think that keeping the brass tees and couplers is a big deal. They will last many times longer than the barbs. When I am working on the PS or tire cleaner I use SS if I have them, but most of the plumbing (excluding the barbs) is still brass.

Brass and stainless won't interact with each other.

Windtrax has stainless fittings at very good prices.

Galvanized and cooper will not work together. Every other kinds of metal I have tried seem to work OK in the carwash environment. For presoak I like to use stainless or plastic hose barbs. Plastic tends to leak after a while around the threads if you use hot water through them.
