Strange issue with Custom Kraft setup

I have a 2 bay Custom Kraft self serve setup. The issue is one bay works fine, the other bay has an issue with the Bug off. When I turn the selector to bug off, the solenoid light illuminates and the right bypass solenoid on the bottom illuminates also ( to lower the pressure).

BUT I don't get any chemical and the Rinse compartment has suction on it. So basically just getting water out of the sprayer.

Could it be that the plunger in the solenoid ( for the Bug Off) is just stuck closed?

Most likely that, or something is clogged.

Pretty sure Kleen-Rite has those, & they're relatively cheap
I think #skpa38 is what i THINK you need

Thanks Sooner. I spoke to Custom Kraft and they are a Parker brand. I don't think the Kleen Rite one will work. It doesn't look like the one I have.

Vic, that doesn't look bad to me. I think you might have another problem.

Randy you are correct. So here is the issue. The coil is getting enough voltage to turn the light on but NOT enough to open the solenoid. I tested this by:

1. using magnets on the solenoid stem = worked fine ( so no mechanical issue with solenoid)
2. testing the coil when power is applied by the screwdriver= magnetism trick. it is very low to 0 magnetism
3. testing the soap using megnetism trick = strong pull.
4. ohm out 4-5 extra solenoids all around 6.2 ohms. Also tried a few different ones and no change.
5. Didn't have time to actually check voltage on the plug in on the coil. But I suspect it is 1/2 due to a loose common or power wire.

Let me know what you think?

Maybe a loose wire in the outside meter box on the harness or the 12 position switch? The box gets opened 2-4 times a week maybe something came loose?

Randy, I see you are in the Laundromat business also, let me know if you need anything. I have been in the Dry-cleaning and laundry business for 30 years and have a lot of connections.

The coil might be bad, or you could have a wiring issue or possibly a bad plug. You didn't specifically say that you tried a different coil on the Bug Off, but if you did and the solenoid still doesn't open, that would point hard to an electrical problem.

Yes. I tried 4 different coils with no change and they all ohm out the same. I think it could be a problem with a loose wire outside in the meter box maybe on the plug or the 12 position switch. I'll check this am. Thanks

I'd check the plug first. The power could be getting all the way to the light in the plug but not through it to the coil.

By any chance does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Custom Kraft SS? For example which color wire comes from the switch on the coin box to the pump stand unit? Etc.. Any help is greatly appreciated?

If it helps, look at the numbers on the switch. If it's an 8 position, 11 and 21 are timed load input and correspond with stop, 12 will be the first selection clockwise after stop, 13 the next, etc. If it's a 10 position, 10 and 20 are the input, 11 is the first selection clockwise, etc. I'm constantly working on different equipment and making my own color-to-function list, and it takes me about a minute.

HI Mep, It is a 12 position switch. 9 and 19 would be the input and 10 is the first selection clockwise, etc??

I don't know on those, should be easy enough to figure out by tracing the timed load from the timer to the switch. The rest would be the same.
