I have been trying to get parts from Superior for two weeks. No one is answering phones or returning messages. Has anyone heard if they are going under or on an extended vacation?
My distributor has not had any luck contacting anyone either.

I heard a rumor at the Northeast Car Wash Show that after the recent sale the new owner has decided he does not want the company. I am not sure if that means that Archie is again running it or whether it will be sold again. I was not able to substantiate any of this so please don't consider it as a fact until it can be verified by other sources or from someone with first hand knowledge of what is going on with Superior.

Were these keys in your toolbox that was stolen recently? It may be time to do what you have to to get the locks replaced. You may have someone coming in at night robbing you a little at a time. Hopefully someone with the same type of equipment can give you an alternative for a lock that will replace yours directly.

I have called Superior a couple of time last week or so, nothing. I met the new owners at Orlando, They were rude and in shorts ready to golf or something, I didn't give them much of a chance. Someone named Doug is supposedly in charge.

Yep; I need to cut them off and get new cam locks from KR or Sonnys.

Still no word on Superior but I have learned that Archie is back in the dryer business. He has purchased the dryer division back from Superior and formed The Dryer Pros. (www.dryerpros.com)

It should solve my problem but it may not be much help to Waxman.

FWIW

The 700 is a good machine that gets the car clean.

Archie should add virtual treadle and make tyhe presoak passes a little faster and sell some more of these!!!

Better yet, make the VT a retro-fit so guys like me could buy it.

Thing is, most of the systems are simple and an owner can fix them.

I just found out today that Superior is Out of Business! A guy I know went to their palce of business and it is all closed up.

I can find most all the parts I need and have even made better, stronger axles, found a cure for the delaminating wheels. It is the electronics I am concerned with. Does anyone know who else can program the ultrasonics?

I can fix pretty much everything on my Sidetracs if I can diagnose the problem.

Does anyone have any extra light covers for the enter, backup stop and exit lights?

Maybe I should start an area just for Superior people so that they can help each other find parts and diagnose problems?

That would be a great idea - thanks for offering.

We are trying to get in touch with some of the support guys. Meanwhile - I can supply axles that are 7x stronger than what Superior used as well as improved wheels for the Side trac 700 machines if anyone is interested.

The ultrasonics can be purchased from APG, all programmed for the 700. Mine was about $500, but it's a must spare part IMO.

I think an area here is a great idea. I think the machine is sound and washes the heck out of cars, so many may want to keep them going.

Waxman, I am not familiar with AGP - could you please provide contact information for them?

Thanks,
Gary

Sorry, I meant to type APG. I found them online. Can you confirm the part number please so I make sure I get the correct item. Also - do you know if you can program them yourself with the downloadable software on their site? Conrad would reprogram mine from time to time.

Just call APG and tell them the machine (700) and they will know the part #. They program them right at the factory, so they have all necessary software.

Side Trac 700 grinding noise

There is a grinding noise coming from my 700 when it travels rear from the home position at about 1/3 to 1/2 way down the rail.:(

Bad wheel bearing on top front wheel? Gearmotor going bad?

When I look at the front wheel I mentioned, it apears to not sit flat on the railbut is raised slightly off the rail on the machine side.

It's busy now so I'm just going to run it till the wheel falls off or I start tripping breakers!

I'm in the process of getting a hold of Conrad. He was the guy who worked for Superior and is most familiar with the side-tracs. I will post his contact information as soon as I get it.

I also have the equipment to program the ultrasonics. I have never used it yet but when I talk to Conrad, I will have him go over this with me.

If I can help anyone out, let me know.

Rick
