swivel repair

i read in a previous post somewhere about using repair kits in the fluid controls high pressure swivel. I called kleenrite and ordered a repair kit and asked about a special tool to take it apart and was told they don’t know anything about that. Is there a special tool? How do you take them apart?

There are 2 steel dowels that come with the kit that you use the drive out the stainless center barrel. I've never had much luck repairing them.

Randy, I've repaired them several times. Seems to hold up ok for me. I take them out of service as soon as they start to drip. Usually the nylon backup washer is gone. I also force some grease in the bearing during the rebuild.
