Thoughts on raising prices to run off the bad customers?

I think I advertise my pressure for Superbay at 1200 PSI vs regular at 1000 PSI (Might be higher - have to check) They run at higher pressures but i figured I never want anyone to claim that I was providing less than what is advertised. I also think a noticeable different / bigger "Kick" when the trigger is pulled is important.

I measure at the pump as well. I think most customers know as much about PSI as CSI. It's all about the "kick" and effect.
Pressure gauges in the pump room are more about me being able to easily monitor equipment performance.

I raised my prices a lot and it got rid of my ****tiest customers. I assume every market is different but it sure worked for me.

Hey Seattleguy, did raising prices affect your revenue positively, negatively, or imperceptibly? My idea is less volume for at least the same or more money.

I know “Seattleguy” location and its a smoke’n hot location in the middle of Seattle. I'm South of Seattle and still get the occasional mess even at the higher price. It’s little easier to tolerate now that I’m making more profit.

Randy is right the location is pretty hot. Every time I've raised my prices it has been good. Count on one hand complaints. Same volume but more $ and less bad customers who make a mess and try to scam me for refunds and freebies.

What percentage of SS bay sales come from your "Super Bay"?

I don't monitor that. Each shares a vault with a regular bay for the coins. The Bill acceptors have more in them than other bays but this could be a function of the fact that they were 2 of the busiest already and the only ones with blowers.

The business is about making money. You need to know the numbers. Why no price increase in so long? Haven’t your bills gone up? I bought 3 small plastic bags of groceries Thursday and it was $63!
Im at $1/ min in bays, $3 start. $2 in vacs. Iba is $10,12,13,15. Just raised detail prices too. It’s no fun without a profit! With a good profit, the messes and repairs don’t seem so terrible. Just smile while you’re cleaning up and think how much you earned from the slob!
