Last year we bought a Tornador to help clean the inside of our landscape and snow/salt trucks. Prior to the tool we never were able to get the interiors as clean, in large part because we didn't know how and we weren't willing to invest the time for the meager returns we were getting. Now with the Tornador, well the results are worth the investment.

After searching this forum, I have a few best practices questions.

1: Air quality: The biggest complaint by the guys is when the cleaning product atomizes it makes for less than desirable air quality, even with both truck doors open. What best practice suggestions do you have to limit the liquid from atomizing and improve air quality?

2: Product/Dilution: We are using the Jax Wax orange citrus as an all purpose cleaner. I believe they are recommending a pretty high concentration - how much is actually necessary to accomplish general cleaning? Other than this cleaning product, is there something we should consider instead?

3. Process: To clean our truck interiors, we begin by blowing out the inside of the truck with an air lance, wipe down heavily soiled areas with clean water/rag, and then we begin detailing the surfaces and crevices with the Tornador using a microfiber, switching between liquid and air, trying to minimize use of the liquid. Any other thoughts/suggestions?

Lastly - any training suggestions on what not to do or things to avoid when using the tool? We haven't encountered anything yet trying to use common sense, but I'd like to avoid mistakes if possible.

We always used Meguiars APC ( all purpose cleaner). Pleasant scent and cleans well. I would provide your workers with at least a dust mask when using the tornador and keep the barrel clean by dipping in a clean bucket of water often. They should also be using a microfiber towel held next to the area where you are working with it.

The atomization from the tornador with chemical in it will choke a horse, so you definitely need to use a dust mask and safety glasses with good ventialtion. You can apply the chemical with a regular spray bottle and agitate with a brush, then use the tornador with hot water to clean the area wiping the area with a micro-fiber towel. My only other suggestion would be, have you considered using a steam machine? No air quality issues and no use of chemicals is needed.

Just joined this forum and saw this thread. We advise all our customers to use an Enzyme Cleaner Concentrate (as recommended by the inventor and mfg, Dennis Dehn) at 16:1. Our product is called TC110. This is the only safe non-caustic product that is easy to work around when atomized in close quarters and interiors. Regular all purpose degreasers contain caustic and promote "the cough" even when sprayed from a trigger sprayer, let alone being atomized. In addition, the enzyme cleaner breaks down protein based stains that are commonly found in interiors, and will clean interiors more thoroughly without leaving any film behind. That is, it has great rinseability when blown off with the Tornador Black or Classic. Sorry to promote but this is really the product you need https://www.professionaldetailingproducts.com/enzyme-super-concentrate-cleaner
