Tubing for SS's? nylon or poly?

OK, my 1/4" OD tubing running on the trough of my roof has deteriorated. Does nylon last longer? The tubing I have has become brittle and just breaks randomly causing leaks. I think I may replace all of the tubing over a couple days this spring. Does anyone have any recommendations as to type of tubing or where to get a deal on it????

Is the trough covered or exposed?

Replaced all mine with Poly from Windtrax 5 years ago. No issues.

If it's exposed, the sun will eat it.

The trough is not exposed. I thought I recalled reading that nylon doesn't rot like pvc or polyethylene. I can't find it anymore though. I just wanted some confirmation before I spend money on tubing and time on installing.

Nylon won't deteriorate, but it will break down from UV light unless it's black.

We’ve found that most of the cheap Poly Tubing from the catalog warehouses don’t last long in the car wash environment.

I replaced all my poly hose with 1/4" Goodyear Pliovic in 2006. I have not had a problem since then. I purchased the hose from Windtrax.

I've had good luck with the John Guest tubing from Kleen Rite, Windtrax, Dultmeier, etc. I believe the black is uv resistant.
