Two IBAs, Friction and Touch-Free, priced differently?

Does anyone have two IBAs, a friction and a touch-free, that they price differently? Wondering if different pricing would create customer confusion? We currently have the same (named) packages on both IBAs at the same price. Considering differentiation between the two washing approaches with different pricing, names, etc.

I have that setup, side by side, & no confusion at all. Was a lil worried early on, but most customers are loyal to 1 machine.
SoftGloss, 8, 10, 12
Radius $6, 8, 9, 10

I had that same exact setup and no issues. Only issue was for me as I had to generate different codes that only worked on a specific machine if a customer had an issue. Now I priced them the same and when I generate a wash code, it works at either.

I would price them the same. If you feel you must price them differently I would go higher on Touchfree due to higher c.o.g.s.

See to me Customers would be willing to pay more on friction just based on there perception alone and truth told we should charge more for touchfree bc of expenses are more like Waxman said, but the customer can not wrap there minds around it from there point of view. Also friction machine 250k vs touchfree 150k our cost also

Our friction wash has always been priced higher. It is slower so it can't wash as many cars per hour, I believe the savings in water and chemistry are more than offset by additional repair cost. Our friction machines seem to have more wear parts than our touchfree machines. Just spent $8000 for replacement brushes. FInally, if you have a damage claim, it is probably from the friction machine.

top touch free is $10 with top wash just featuring a rain x product
top friction is $16 and accounts for 40% of friction sales, but gets a carnuba product, Lava, and a Rain X

I need to go up $2 on touch free

Yeah, I hate seeing operators keeping the price too low. I raised my IBA prices last year from 8,9,10,12 to 10,12,13,15. I still have well over 50% going for the top package. Should have done it long ago.

We decided to keep things the same. Would be too confusing for our customers plus we would need to address Wash codes and Everwash confusion.
