Vac hose color and size

What is the best color for a vac hose. Hiding dirt and scuffs, looking good over time, etc. Also, what is the best size: 2 inch or 1.5 inch?

Thanks

copper,

Not sure on color, but I believe there is a conscensus among us veterans that you do not want to go with 1.5" because of the increased number of plugs you will get. We started out with 1.5" but have used 2" for over 25 years.

I have black at one of my washes and blue at the other. Black definitely hides the dirt and scuffs but is not as exciting. I am considering trying red for both washes just for a new look.

Kleen-Rite sent me blue hose with black in the grooves by mistake instead of solid blue, but it doesn't show the dirt as bad as the solid blue.

As far as just lasting longest, you can't go wrong with Smooth-Bor.

You never want to use 1 ½“Hose, it tends to plug up. We use Blue 2” hose from Smooth Bore. We tried the Black hose once and it disappeared pretty fast. We replace the hoses every fall.

I use 1.5" black hoses with swivels on both ends. They are much lighter,
flexable and much easer to use. I don't have problems with them pluging up.

I noticed some of my hoses which I think came by mistake, have Black on the outer circumference but yellow on the inner rings. The contrast is sharp and the outer black doesn't show dirt from contact with the ground and inner yellow stays bright. One of those mistakes that turned out well.
