I found the key to reliability and longevity is to “salt” the vacuums with about $10 in spare change each week. My attendants used to argue about whose turn it was to empty and clean them.

We clean out our vac's 3 times a week, Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Some operators here have to clean them out everyday to keep the homeless out of them.
