Vacuum Mounting direction

Due to an accident at our wash, we are replacing a vac island. We have always mounted two vacs facing right and left on the island. We have noticed that some people will use the vac facing left when they are on the right side of the island and vice versa.
I am thinking about mounting the vacs facing the short side of the island so that either vac could be used from either side. What are the pros and cons?

Depends layouts, traffic flow etc. I have some facing the approach so that people on either side can use it.

My favorite setup is two small coleman Islands Seperated by about 30" with Shampoo N Vac and Fragrance vac facing each other toward the seperation. The Shampoo N Vac faces the direction of travel because it gives better exposure to the higher priced item, and the flashing lights of the fragrance vac catches the atttention. That way, either side can use either machine easily. Both Islands are spanned by a single Coleman lighted canopy. A tire air machine is hung on the approach side pole.

There is also a Coleman vending Island on the approach side of one. If you go to Google earth and type in 5724 N. Lincoln Ave. Chicago, Ill and Zoom in you can kind of see the layout. Detail is not great.

Google Street view at 5746 N. Lincoln is a little better. It initialy shows the wrong side of the stree so you have to pan around.

I've seen where the vacs face the short end of the island and people think they have to park with the coin acceptor facing them to use it, so they end up blocking both vacs to use one.

Can be a definite downside. That iss why traffic flow is important.

Having the vacs face each other in the center eliminates this. (No room to get between them. )
