I haven’t updated the prices in my ShurVend vending machines in a couple of years. I went through the catalog and determined the per unit price for my machine. This analysis does NOT account for shipping and/or buy 3 get 1 free offers. I try to order from Kleen-rite when they offer free shipping. My chemical supplier (Autowash Maintenance) will ship vending and parts on their truck at no cost.
I was surprised that I was losing money on Black Jack and Sprayway glass cleaner. Little Tree air fresheners have not had a price increase since the last time I checked!
I thought I’d share this information and save some others a little time.
Little trees pouch pak $44.10/72= .6125 ea
Magne-shine $80.76/72= $1.12
Wrapped Terry towel $67.19/100= .67
Wrapped Blue microfiber $61.99/100=.61
Shammy $135.19/120= 1.12
Blue Huck $65.85/100= .65

AA protectant sponge $61.25/100 = .61
AA cleaner sponge. “”
NA Glass cleaner $52.50/100= .52

bug and Tar $47.19/100= .47
Just for leather. “”
BlackJack. $94.38/100= .94
Simoniz travel wipe $30.30/24= 1.26
4oz AA protect spray $38.17/24= 1.59
Tire foam $18.49/12 = 1.54
SprayWay glass $49.40/24= 2.05
Mothers detailer or protectant $43.57/24= 1.81
Armor All extreme tire shine or cleaner $41.27/24= 1.71

I typically price the items at approximately double my cost.

All this stuff went up after covid. I raised my prices then, back in 2020. I am $2 on AA sponges, $3 on microfiber towels, AA bottles and foam. I am still $1 on trees. I always order more than 5 boxes to get the discount. I just feel like more than $1 for a little fragrance tree is crazy. On Blackjack, I ordered a whole bunch from Sonnys before the price went up, 15 boxes. They were less than 40 cents. I am still working on them. Once that is depleted I am going to drop it. I do not feel you can get more than $1 for that crappy little sponge. Just my 2 cents.

What brand is your vending machine? Looks nice and neat. I agree about double the cost.

This one of the famous Uncle Sam’s ShurVend vendors. Jim (Uncle Sam) was a long time member here. I believe he is in his 90’s now but quite ill unfortunately.
These machines are rebranded AMS vendors (Automated Merchandising Systems) that Jim would fortify with steel cages. The one shown is on a lazy Susan so that it spins around and can be loaded inside the equipment room.
There are a couple of other manufacturers that have copied his design but Jim’s were the original.

That's interesting and I have never seen that before. Can we get photos?

When Jim was slowing down and shutting down his business I had asked about buying his business but he said he already had a deal with someone else. I don’t know what happened but I’ve never seen a product that was as refined as Jim’s.

Yeah I have one at my SS/IBA site. great machine although I've had to replace a compressor 2x and that's usually $1K
