Vinyl or Plastic Signage on paneling

We are in the process of putting up Extrutech paneling in our Self Serves, has anybody had their signs made in vinyl decals versus drilling holes and putting plastic signs up, I'm not to fond of putting holes in new paneling and if vinyl will work I'm all for it but I thought I would ask first.

If your signage is permanent put signs up, if its temporary stuff go have decals made up using removable adhesive vinyl.

vinyl decals are great, & inexpensive. S.Thomas & Associates, in Dallas ,Tx, makes GREAT stuff for cheap!
However, do you think it would stick forever?

We drilled the paneling to mount the signs. In 6 months you'll have a holes punched into the paneling from the customers smashing the foam brush into the wall.

I had the typical bay menu signs that most washes have where you buy several menu strips to apply according to what options you offer. After a while the strips will start to peel off the sign and not look very good. I had a brand new sign that I never put up and still looked new. I had a local sign shop take a picture of it and make a single piece decal the same size as the sign. ( similar to a vehicle wrap ) I had them install the new signage on the back side of my existing menu sign. It only cost me $43 per menu board and they look better than they ever did with the strips.

This works, but not the cheap white foam tape. Use this:

I used to mount signs with silicone adhesive and I'd use a piece of foam tape to hold the sign while the silicone cured, and when I took it down the tape didn't have any hold left. The next time I used the Scotch stuff I linked with silicone adhesive, and years later the tape was still holding better than the silicone.

VERY impressive! I'd @ least call Sta-Vend /S Thomas Associates in Irving, Tx (Dallas). You might be shocked how good they are & cheap. Did a wrap for my LaserWash for $120! Looks brand new after 2 years!

Could you may be mount 1 panel (frp or plastic, etc.) and mount all signs on that 1 panel!

We have done this in our quick lube/tire center. Then there is only 1 area for all info. Instead of mounting multiple signs.

I'm redoing the walls at one of my washes now with extrutec and I'm regretting drilling holes for signs. I don't have any feedback to give but I'm stealing your idea to try it!

We are about to start putting our equipment back up and I'm using a hole saw to cut out a 3/4" diameter hole in the paneling and inserting a 1/2" thick nylon spacer to prevent crushing the paneling when I tighten up the s.s sleeve anchors. I visited one site where they didn't do this and it looks terrible.

Yeah right! It's more practical and cheaper. Mine was done by Gatorwraps. They wrap all kinds of crazy things and lettering decals.
