Virtual Toll Free Service

All,

I was thinking of getting a virtual toll free service and posting the number on all the equipment instead of my cell.

The reason behind this is to give me the ability to have a virtual attendant that would allow the customer to route to the right person. Like Dial one for on-call attendant, dial 2 for owner, dial 3 for sales, dial 4 for billing, etc.

The primary use is to change the on-call attendant number that would forward to his cell.

Any of you using this kind of service (like http://www.ringcentral.com)? The $10/month service should do it as we don't get that many calls.

BTW, I know it could be a local phone service (like vonage and a virtual number), but I can't get local virtual numbers here.

I signed up for the beta about 8 months ago, got let in about 2 months ago.... Its pretty nice.

They have a list of phone numbers you can choose from in your state. They also have a number search option where you can look by geography and number sequence (in other words you can look for a phone number that is local that has the number combination for WASH or CLEANCAR like ie. (456) 555-WASH). Then you just configure it to forward to another number, and it is all free. It's pretty cool.

I honestly haven't utilized it for my wash yet anyway, mainly because I have my cell phone on the sign now, and I don't see a reason to change it. But it is a fun thing to play with, and a good thing to lock in for the future.

We use this one. It started out as "GotVmail", but has changed to "Grasshopper". It has worked very well for us! Sounds like it does exactly what you're talking about. We have four washes in different towns. This gives us a toll free number to post at all of the washes, and forwards to any number (our cell phones, or office) when they select "service dept." for a problem at the wash.

I have used ring central for 3 years now and it's geat. I have it for the car wash and the detail business 1-888-WAX-BUFF.
I have 5 extentions set up and some are forwarded to my cell and others to recordings and voice mail....it also works as a web based fax. I pay for a year up front and get it for less money....Great product.

A little feedback, I have subscribed to the service and I am impressed. Got a vanity number configure the call following, voice mail, answer and on hold message. Works like a charm!

OK guys I don't understand this.
I have two washes with 2 different phone numbers(1 ph.# per location) that cost me about $119.00 per month for each number.
Each line also has DSL connected to them for c.c. and camera systems.
Can I get rid of my phone#'s now and get toll free #'s to save money?
If so can I still be able to get DSL and to use these toll free #'s for my camera systems?

Mustang,

"Can I get rid of my phone#'s now and get toll free #'s to save money?"
Yes, and get many advanced features too that you typically get from a PBX.

"If so can I still be able to get DSL and to use these toll free #'s for my camera systems?"

Yes again...it's called a dry loop DSL (no DC voltage on the line to power a phone, but pairs still active for DSL). However, so LECs charge you a fee for the pair usage (like $10/month). Mine does not.

Just what like bigleo48 said RingCentral probably is one of the best telecommunication provider in comparison with the competition. Some say that they are quite expensive but I think that speaks to their quality services.
These spambots are getting more advanced.
