washworld razor fiberglass cover issue

We have been having numerous problems with our Razor and I have realized that one or more is caused by the fiberglass cover. Its cracked, warped and out of alignment. Trust me not really repairable, we have tried for months but keep causing issues. Amoung the issues, rear proximity sensor gets blocked when it moves, Sometimes clips the side of the tracks and sometime the arch gets caught in it.

Sounds like its time for a new one which I don't have an issue with except for the downtime until it comes.

I was wondering, I have seen other touch free washes where the equipment is exposed without a fiberglass or other material cover. Any issue with me just removing it temporarily and running without the cover?

Ours got one of the spines broken when a tech ran it too far to the rear with it open. We have to tie it together at the bottom with heavy cable ties through both drain holes to keep it in correct position. Works like a charm.

Are you saying the cover obstructs the rear prox switch when it moves, or do you mean the rear sonar in the middle of the carriage?

Its the rear sonar in the middle of the carriage. That has been fixed by making a bigger hole.

The whole fiberglass panel is broken though and so sometimes it hits the rails. So basically wondering if I can just pull the whole thing off and run the wash.

I don't see why not, you said you got one coming I'd just remove before you have to order more parts due to it causing enough issues already.

I would advise not running without a carriage cover, even if it is only until a new one arrives. Although it is a wet environment, the cover will keep direct water and chemical spray to the components inside the carriage, like the motors or wiring junction boxes. I would try and find a way to brace it back together or semi-permanently fasten the cover to prevent movement.

Where exactly is it broken? Is it in multiple spots?
