Watery tri colours

Hi guys, new to the industry after purchasing a Carwash in our home town in Australia. We would appreciate any advice. The tri colour on our Mr Magic automatic touch less Wash has become watery. All pumps appear to be working fine, we are not using any recycled water and increasing the air has made no difference. What else should I check out? Thanks

It sounds like the steel wool in your foam generator may need to be repacked.

I'm not familiar with that car wash system. Does it use injectors or a hydrominder to mix into a tank, and pumped out from there?

Have you checked water hardness? If your softener quits working it can reduce foaminess.

Hi Greg, thanks for your advice, yes it's a hydrominder tank set up. I will test for softness today. Appreciate your suggestion

The water softner not working is not going to change your TF from "foamy" to "watery".

If you have foam generators you can check those and make sure there not plugging the lines. If not no worries, Ive seen plenty of automatics that don't even use foam generators and the TF still works great.

What kind of pump are you using and what are you delivering the TF through?

Is it all colors or just one?

Air pressure should be set anywhere from min 15PSI to 50PSI MAX.

Make sure your chemical is not old or diluted since you are a new owner.
Check hydrominder tip size for chemical you are using.
Check and see if your hydrominder is pulling correctly and not diluting in the tank.
Check foot valves as they can lead to chemical dilution.

It can if you're already running too weak on the mix and your water is really, really hard. It's most likely something else you listed though.

Exactly, the problem would then be chemical related and not the softener. As long as the chemical is good it does not matter whether your softener is working or not to create foam.
