Weepmizer/Shows Low Temp.

I had downloaded the pdf manual for my Dixmor, but of course I can't find it.

The temp. says -22 F. It's 28F outside.

Time for a new temp. sensor?

Could be, but also inspect the wire going from your WeepMizer to the temp sensor to make sure there are no breaks, exposed wire, etc., in it. I had a GoldLine thermostat reporting odd temps and found the wire to the RTD had rubbed on a metal corner for so long that it rubbed right through the insulation and was shorting on the metal and giving false readings.

If it's not a connection or broken wire, order two sensors and install them both...in different locations. The WM will use the coldest of the two.

Unit needs to be recalibrated

I just went thru the same thing. The temp sensors are most likely ok. The unit needs to be sent in for recalibration. This seems to happen to much with the Weep Mizer. The good thing is that it only costs around $25. Just give them a call and they will let you know.

You most likely have a bad temperature sensor or cable since it's only about 2or 3 years old. I sent you the latest DX1000 manual.

IIRC -22 is the default temp you will see when no temp sensor is connected. As Randy said, broken/rubbed wire or bad sensor is the most likely culprit.

Years ago I had a dixmor wire rubbed at a c-channel purlin on a metal roof. My guess the wind caused the roof to move enough to rub the wire.
