Distributed 12000 over about a month and they were good for 2 months. So, they came back over 2 months.
I figured businesses were better since I could give a coupon for each employee and since most drove to work drove near my place 2 times a day.

We did pretty well with the local advertisement like magazine that they put in local businesses. Even though we had multiple sites radio ads were a waste of money. I think the best promotion/advertising we did was usually community related. A local needed a heart transplant so we donated $1 for every wash on a weekend and got coverage from all the local TV stations and some radio outlets. That got great results and some new customers as well as some good will in the community. We also had a wash club that did okay.

Best thing I did was a paint job. After 9 years in business with an earth tone look, we jazzed things up with bright blue paint and a white stripe. The original color was still in good shape, just didn't jump out. Amazing how many comments I got and some customers thought I was new on the block.
