What are key elements in a carwash/detail website?

1. Links to social media?

2. A link to an ebay store that takes paypal for discounted wash coupon books and tokens?

3. Detail shop pricing?

4. Photos?

5. Jokes?

Conversely, what have you put on a website that you wish you had left off, or: what DIDN'T work for you?

Thanks.

My Opinion

In my own personal study, a couple of things stand out to me, 1) keep it simple, 2) start a blog, and provide regular, relevant content (car care tips, suggestions, etc) and 3) learn as much as you can about SEO (Seach Engine Optimazation).

If you do those things, it will drive traffic to your website, if you don't it will be found by accident or not found at all.

Jeff,

I have done all those things except for a blog. I have a social media site, Google map site, youtube instructional videos too. I have our website posted everywhere on all our bays, vacs, petwashes, entry system, etc.

Traffic is very low and I get to see where traffic is originating from the hosting company utilities and google tracks. Many of it is a cross link to some of my pictures.

I think for a single wash site, they tend to be of local significance and people just don't think to go or search for a website. Having said this, I do believe it is worth doing and is not expensive at all.

Like this website, it can provide a gateway to your business.

Consequently, if people find you on the www, the information on the website may help generate additional door swings for the business.

This can happen indirectly if people decide to visit your brick and mortar store or directly if they decide to purchase something on-line with their credit or debit card.

So what key elements should go into a carwash/detail website would depend on what you are trying to accomplish.

One way to get ideas of what may work for you is to visit websites of successful car washes.

I like these.

http://www.autobell.com/
http://www.tripleplaycarwash.com/

As you will see, each business has a different design and image and yet each home page gets right down to business without the gadgets like music or movie clips.

Sure the traffic will be low because you have a small market, but it is a window into your business/services and it works 24/7. One important thing is to have all the info there, so that a person looking at it at 12 midnight, won't get mad because he has to call you to ask for more info.

One thing that will help you in the search engine is to put in the title of your pages, your zipcode and what you do, car wash, detailing, express wash full tunnel. the title of the pages are indexed.

My web design company is working on a product that you can buy, populate it with any and all of your info. It will include a blog too. The pricing will either be monthly or a one time fee.
