The potential new wash has much bigger hydraulic style hoses than my other wash. It makes the wash process clumsy and the booms don’t move smoothly. Does anyone use these?

I don't see how that hose affect the way the boom moves, but it is severe overkill for a bay hose. I use Continental Neptune 3000 3/8" ID. What you pictured is also 3/8" ID but it's probably double-braided.

Maybe the boom needs work. I don’t know what maintenance they require.

SW Indiana melon fields.
IMO, 3/8" is too big and cumbersome for the customer to handle. That type you have is even worse. The part that the customer handles should be 1/4" and slick. It also clears out faster than 3/8", resulting in quicker changeovers. I almost always agree with MEP, but not this time.

You got that right. 3/8 inch is BIG and CLUMMSY.. 1/4 inch is the Ticket.. Plus as mentioned, it Clears out MUCH Faster. My suggestion is Trash those 3/8 inch Hoses! ASAP! :)
