After all these years of owning a Water Wizard 1.0. I still do not know what the purpose of the "Can eyes" on that are riveted to the front of the gantry. I know the measurement eyes, the auto height adjustment eyes and the exit eyes. But do not know what these do. They look somewhat mangled and I cannot trouble shoot. Is there an input they control? If so where? Also, my wash has been intermittently acting up. It will start side balster half way down car, and start side oscillators in wrong spot. I thought for sure it was a counting wheel problem but my Red Lion is out of commission so I can;t check wheel counts. ]

These eyes are supposed to prevent the spray boom from making contact with the vehicle. Boom Safety Eyes....if something is blocking them, the boom will not come down. As far as the issues you are having, sounds more like a worn out count wheel. These are sometimes not easy to identify. If you ever experience the gantry going erratic and spraying out the front of the bay when its at the front of the vehicle or doing any kind of crazy things at all, look at the wheel. The count wheel will sometimes slide on the track (slippery when wet) in the middle of a wash, after it has measured the car correctly and this leads to all kinds of sporadic behavior just like you are describing. If the machine appears to be measuring the vehicle lenght correctly, this is the first thing I check.

They measure the length of the car so that the boom has clearance to operate.

I am experiencing a problem with the gantry can eyes and have narrowed it down to a cable issue. Does anyone know the correct cable and where to find it that I would need to replace for the passenger side or driver side can eye? The eye is a banner eye but I can not locate a banner cable or similiar match. Thanks for the help!

I assume you have a 2.0 with multi channel eyes? However, in all likelihood the problem is right at the connector. You can cut and solder the wires together, then heat shrink back. It is a pain, but the vast majority of problems with those eyes is the connection with the cable.

cmcclu........I just replaced my Banner eyes on the boom and can eyes. Thanks to cfcw's diagnosis. I was able to order the parts I needed direct from banner off their web site. You used to have to go through a distributor, but now you can purchase right off their web site. I'm sure if you contacted them, they would be able to help you.
