what should i do

i have a wash that we built 4 yrs ago its under performing .i am next to a truck stop i am thinking about pulling one of my automatics and turning into oil change bay for big trucks .we hae just one oil change shop in our small town of 5000 i dont know if another car oil change would work .but i really believe the big truck bay would they do oil changes at the truck stop but many complaints of 2 to 3 hour waits .they average about 60 to 70 trucks per week .any thoughts would be helpful thanks

How many SS bays do you have?

How many Automatics do you have?

Are the Autos IBA, EE, all touch free, and or friction?

How many other Car Washes of the same type do you compete with?

Do you only have a population of 5000 to pull from, or do you have adjacent towns that could potentially have customers?

you should do a comparison of income between the two types of business. How many trucks would you possibly do per day vs cost of goods and labor. It may give you a better idea of what to do after you run the numbers.

trying to figure it out

2 touch free automatics 4 self serve bays. we do have the room for the trucks i have another automatic down the strreet that was closed opened back up first guy went broke.exactly where im heading if i dont come up with other option.car wash busy after snows but not after weather clears. weare dead. have probly 800 to 900 big rig traffic a day .we have truck wash that stays popping.one of my bigger mistakes building this big loser my fault but am trying to correct my mistake
any ideas woud be helpful. like i said we do have another oil change shop .but i was thinking car oiol change may go good with the car wash.as far as oil changes go bigger profit in the big trucks than cars.and we do have the truck traffic.would like to start at 5 to 10 trucks per day.
