Has anyone ever had to slightly adjust a potentiometer on a Slugbuster III?
Our heavily used internet kiosk in our laundry did not have a single jam or miss a single proper pulse output in over ten years that I can remember ... so I am a bit partial to the Aussie made MicroCoin. I have not tested them that thoroughly in the car wash environment though. A large laundromat distributor asked me which
coin mech I am most partial to & I answered Australia's (now a surplus nation
) MicroCoin as long as it would fit in whatever piece of equipment without too much labor intensive modification.
It seems that all them have their pluses & minuses. I have not tried the Winnipeg Magikist
coin mech though. Let me elaborate a bit:
The IDX MA800s & X20 have the relay output that helps for some custom setups such as our new dog wash. Cost helps too! It also was a pleasant surprise to see their X20 fit perfect in our CounterTop Merit MegaTouch game in our laundromat. A non warranty personality plug went out on an IDX X20 in our bay so we are still testing them. More in bay air moisture with (both
doors closed necessity) up north here ... in winter time could have been a factor there.
Slugbusters have a short drop that has been serving us very well for over 2 years on our 16
coin op clothes dryers upgrade to help complete our 100% dollar
coin acceptance. Slugbusters have a
coin drop that will fit & improve our worn out
coin slides & dollar
coin acceptance on our 32 washing machines. For over 20 years single
coin Slugbuster & Ginsan Sensortron were pretty much flawless.
For some, the Imonex even with its less precise screening for slugs can be a better fit for some ... I have had excellent results on one of our
coin op Doyle Vacs that we converted to dollar
coins & Dixmor on. The perfect "no effort" fitting for their mechs on other equipment such as for a variety of laundromat equipment is a factor for some.
