I have been using Ginsan Multitron acceptors in my vacs and bays. IDX MA800 in my drop shelf vendors.

The MA800 have been running for 5 years and never have had to be programmed or any failures. The Multitrons have been a bit unreliable.

Do the MA-800 work well in the bays ? I accept quarters and Tokens.

I like the MA800's - they rarely jam, and when they do it's usually either because a kid stuck a piece of trash in it or someone filled the chute to the top with nickels and dimes. They accept bent coins that jam the counter and rarely reject good ones.

Slugbuster III's with the EZ cleanout are my second favorite - I won't touch a SB II because it will take a $1 coin and only pulse a quarter credit.

Has anyone ever had to slightly adjust a potentiometer on a Slugbuster III?

Our heavily used internet kiosk in our laundry did not have a single jam or miss a single proper pulse output in over ten years that I can remember ... so I am a bit partial to the Aussie made MicroCoin. I have not tested them that thoroughly in the car wash environment though. A large laundromat distributor asked me which coin mech I am most partial to & I answered Australia's (now a surplus nation:eek:) MicroCoin as long as it would fit in whatever piece of equipment without too much labor intensive modification.

It seems that all them have their pluses & minuses. I have not tried the Winnipeg Magikist coin mech though. Let me elaborate a bit:

The IDX MA800s & X20 have the relay output that helps for some custom setups such as our new dog wash. Cost helps too! It also was a pleasant surprise to see their X20 fit perfect in our CounterTop Merit MegaTouch game in our laundromat. A non warranty personality plug went out on an IDX X20 in our bay so we are still testing them. More in bay air moisture with (both doors closed necessity) up north here ... in winter time could have been a factor there.

Slugbusters have a short drop that has been serving us very well for over 2 years on our 16 coin op clothes dryers upgrade to help complete our 100% dollar coin acceptance. Slugbusters have a coin drop that will fit & improve our worn out coin slides & dollar coin acceptance on our 32 washing machines. For over 20 years single coin Slugbuster & Ginsan Sensortron were pretty much flawless.

For some, the Imonex even with its less precise screening for slugs can be a better fit for some ... I have had excellent results on one of our coin op Doyle Vacs that we converted to dollar coins & Dixmor on. The perfect "no effort" fitting for their mechs on other equipment such as for a variety of laundromat equipment is a factor for some.

When the Susan B's came out we were Beta testers for GinSan's Multitron, and also put in MA-800 and Slugbuster III's. The Multitron was a good acceptor, except for the programming of 15 coins:eek: and we had many failures of the MA-800'S in that we would have to reprogram to a new number. We worked our way thru that period and have all Parker SB-III's in Bays, Combo-vacs and Vacs. We have MA-800's in our vendor islands and have VERY few problems there because they are in a dry environment, but in the bays we had most of the problems with the MA-800. I know we have some Slugbuster III's that go back to the Susan B period in our washes still taking coins. RykoPro's got it right great people make a great company and their service is impeccable IMHO!:D

I started out with slugbuster II coin acceptors and they worked great for a long time. I had one guy who always washed and I know he was getting free washes somehow by manipulating the slugbusters. I never figured out what he was doing. When secure coin came out with a short drop coin mech I bought a few and put them in the bays were this guy washed. I never saw him come back again so I know he had found his match for cheating a coin mech and he went elsewhere. Now that Magickist has renamed them ICOIN and made improvments I find it my favorite coin mech. Taking 5 different coins for me is plenty. Very easy to clear a coin jamb but I can't remember my last coin jamb with them.

My favorite is the Microcoin. I have been using them for 8-10 years. Haven't replaced any, they hold their programming and accept the right coins consistently and don't accept anything they shouldn't.
I have IDX X-10s and MA-800s in vendors and paystations with very few problems.
I replaced the Multitrons and Securecoins because of too many problems.
