I have a 1/2" Asco 24V N.O. solenoid valve that I need a diaphragm for. The valve body is in perfect shape, just the diaphragm has a tear. A repair kit, which comes with a ton of unnecessary parts is $151 from K/R. A new valve is only $160. I have checked numerous online suppliers and no one seems to offer a replacement diaphragm, just the overpriced kit. I didn't find it anywhere for less than $100.

The valve is model 8210G34
K/R# SA218

The repair kit is 302334
K/R# SO302334

Does anyone know where to get a diaphragm for this? Possibly aftermarket?

BTW, kit #302273 is wrong. I bought two if them off ebay, thinking they were correct.

I ran into the same thing about a year ago. I wanted a rebuild kit to have on hand for my weep solenoid...BTW, the 8210G34 Asco is the best! I ended up just buying a complete new valve off ebay for about $60.00...They are on there occasionally for about that price or less. A rebuild kit for $151 is ridiculous! Hopefully someone will chime in with a lower cost solution.

I don't know why the ASCO parts are so expensive, maybe because they are an industrial valve. I've done what 2Biz has done a couple of times, just bought another valve off of Ebay take out the diagram and toss the rest of the valve.

I just bought SO302273 from KR to repair my 8210. Are you saying that is not the correct repair kit? It was $87. I haven't received it yet, but if it's wrong, I'm going to make them pay to ship it back.

I just replaced a 1/2" ASCO solenoid for someone with a DEMA of the same type. It's only $57 from Kleen-Rite, the diaphragm is $10. I've been using them for 15 years and have had almost no trouble with them.

I still have the ASCO with the diaphragm intact, it looks pretty bad but the valve was still working, I replaced it because the brass seat was severely eroded.

I only used Asco because I heard so many great things about them from here. Lasted 2 years before I had to replace the diaphragm. At my other wash I had been using Dema for years with very little trouble. I keep the extra Dema diaphragms and repair kits on hand and rarely need them. I only bought the repair kit since I had a brand new Asco that I stole the diaphragm from and wanted to make it whole, but I won't ever buy one again.

slash007, the #SO302273 kit is for a ASCO Normally closed 8210 valve. The kit you want for the ASCO Normally open 8210G34 is the #SO302334. It say on the top of the valve which repair kit to use.

I've only replaced one diaphragm on my ASCO 8210G34 weep valve, I think it lasted about 24 years before it got a tear in it.
