Worry about freezing if no heat but doors work?

The heater in my IBA that has a Ryko softgloss does not work. The doors are shut and they are always shut while a wash is running, so I am wondering if I have to worry about freezing with the heat not working? It is supposed to go down to 12 degrees tonight with a wind shield of 0.

Is your thermostat in the bay? if so when you turn it up does it sound like the ignition switch is clicking? if not then the thermostat might not be sending the signal to fire.

thermostat is in bay, heater is Ultimate Products heater. The "fan proved" light would stay on and you could hear the fan. It would try to light 3 times then lock out. I would do the reset and wait 5 minutes and it would do the same, 3 tries and then lockout. A couple of times the flame would kick on for about a second but then shut off again.

Hopefully you made it thru the night without freezing. FWIW I have backup propane heaters in my equipment rooms that will run without power. If it is going into the single digits I turn them on. For the automatic bays I have a salamander type propane heater for each bay (runs without electrical power) and am setup to hook them up in a matter of minutes. If we have a winter power outage or a broken heater in the bay I can use them to get by until we fix our problem. I had a blower problem once with my ultimate heater and the salamanders pulled me thru while the bay was shut down to repair it. Good luck - I hope you get it fixed quickly.

Our ultimate heater was cycling the other day. Ultimate said it could be glasss view port glass came out, the vacuum switch went bad, or the relay failed. I turned power off for 10 minutes and then back on--it reset and has run fine since.

I have tried resetting it multiple times with no luck. Don't know if I froze up last nigh, haven't checked yet but it did go down to 6 degrees and windshield -7. I put the machine out of order so that no one would use it, figured that would help. Turned out a good thing as I saw someone try to use it around 6am but they ended up using the touch free. I have a kerosene tube heater that I have used in the past, but only to thaw out pipes and not as a replacement heater.

For Ultimate, did you call them direct for help? Do you just call the main # and ask for tech support?

It is your control board in the heater. This happen to me.

If the fan is working on your heater that is good since 9 out of 10 times that is the problem I have with mine. Check the pipe connections between the fan and the burner box. I have seen these pull apart and then the fan won't create vacuum. It is also a good idea to check and make sure that no water has built up in the flame pipe. I keep a spare burner box and fan on hand at all times. The fact that you have heard it fire indicates that the thermostat is working.

I was fine this morning even with the freezing temps, but I put in my kerosene heater for a couple of hours to warm everything up before I opened up the bay. Unfortunately I had my cousin who works in heating an air try to fix it a few days ago and now the fan proved light won't come on. I'm not sure what he did.

Jeff, did you buy the control board from Ultimate? Is there a way to test and make sure that is the problem?

Soapy, I will mess with it first chance I get and if I can get the fan back on, then I will check the things you suggested. Thanks.
