I am looking for a labeler that will print on tape 1" or wider. I see several for smaller tapes but nothing 1" or larger, preferably in color or at least the capability to buy different colored tapes.

True, there is bumper sticker material for laser printers that's somewhat durable, inkjet stuff can't get wet though.

I want something for outside use. Don't want the hassle of dragging the printer around either.
FWIW I have used the Avery Computer Printer labes with success outside. Doesn't help with the mobile printer issue.

Jackson Hirsh has some nifty lamination pouches where you can make sealed labels of any size. We have found them to be so good we even invested in their high end laminator. Works best with color laser printer output which are really reasonable nowadays compared to the past.

Reasonable until you go to buy a set of toner cartridges.

I use a Brother P-Touch with TZE tape (UV protected so no sun fading) What I really like is the split tape backing which makes installation very easy.
