Well this wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been called ridiculous and most likely not the last. I have done many repairs over the years where a hose was simply thrown down a crawl space and part of it landed on a sharp object. Over time the vibrations in the hose caused a failure. I am a minimalist in that I try to do most everything with the fewest tools. I would sometimes have techs that would literally fill a van with tools to the point where they could barely function. Somehow I managed to do most repairs with a small space for tools. To each his own.

In my experience I have always caught hell with reusables leaking after installed due to dry rotted hose that needs to be replaced anyways from the equipment room all the way. But I have used them in a jerk also but always end up replacing the lines. To me reusables are Mickey Mouse solution and Crimped fitting are professional. But again a reusable can get you out of a Jerk as Long as the hose is flexible

I've never heard that expression before either.

Up here in God's country we'd "I have used them in a pinch"

Your Tom about the hose being dry rotten, it seems like about 95% of the time the hose isn't worth repairing.

We also use Weatherhead T460 hose crimper, I'm having no problems with it so far.
That could be good information since NAPA (that is a few blocks from us) stated their system was Weatherhead & they adamantly stated they were limited to just Weatherhead hose! Hopefully, we don't get so hard up that we have to beg further & beyond ... than voluntarily willing to sign something indemnifying them from their possibly mostly just perceived liability fear? Caused by possible horrible court precedents that happened where-ever? Maybe a legal-eagle can respond???

I have a Parker Mini crimp *brand new air hookup/ Hydralic I paid $1,000 for if someone seriously wants to buy its never been used mint condition. Can send pictures. I have been buying all my hoses from CWS and don't see the need to use it yet. I want to buy a ProPress for plumbing and it could help me get up some more money lol. Thanks Thomas

For those of you using the Weatherhead T460 have you used any hose or fittings other than the weatherhead brand? We use a different model of a weatherhead crimper at work and we use eaton fittings.
