Gonna put up the white vinyl plastic walls in my IBA. It is brick walls. Should i go straight into the brick / concrete, or put up wood rails & screw it into the wood rails?
To me, it seems like an extra step, more chance of wear with wood and when you say boards - if you mean strips or struts, you could get some flexing of the FRP. Going directly into the brick gives you the most rigid and rugged backing IMO.Outta curiosity, why not put up boards, & screw them into those boards? Rot out too quick?
what frp panels are you going to go with? Thanks Rudy!!
And pre-drill panel holes to 5/16" for 1/4" plastic rivet anchors. This allows for panel movement from temperature change without warping.straight into the brick using the plastic drive-in anchors that the manufacturer recommends.
I never installed in that area, just in Chicagoland. If you install during July Okla/ Tx shouldn't they already be at maximum expansion?
Gotcha. We have a different type heat down here. It's akin to hell.I never installed in that area, just in Chicagoland.
Haven't you guys been seeing 100F+ latelyGotcha. We have a different type heat down here. It's akin to hell.
We had one day above 100 in the Chicagoland area, about two weeks ago.I have, since June 1st.
No- and I don’t wish to. Stay safe- that sounds nasty. At this rate we might have one more day NOT above 100 before September. And it's not a dry heat, have you ever experienced 100° and 99% humidity?
