When I was researching a mobile payment app for my 5-bay, 5-vacuum SS wash in 2022, I called Beacon, PayRange, Touch4Wash, Washcard. You can search this Forum by my name and read more details, or send me a PM. Here's a quick summary... I ended up going with Coinless and have been quite happy.

  • Beacon's monthly membership fees are $399 / month. The salesman asked if I had an IBA, then admitted their services are probably not a good fit for my SS wash. He recommended Coinless.
  • PayRange is used at many laundromats. I scheduled a 20-minute meeting with a salesman. He talked very fast answering my questions as I quickly typed. Their devices are $29.95 each + $20 harness. Processing fees are 3.49% per transaction + 1 cent per transaction. They use bluetooth, not wifi. He said the app doesn't capture customers email or phone numbers, so not sure how you could contact a customer if there was a question or problem at your wash. You cannot start the equipment remotely (only if in bluetooth range). After 30 minutes, he admitted that I asked a lot of good questions, but said that I "had exceeded my 20 minute allottment and would have to reschedule another meeting". When I asked for referrals, he said they're confidential, but offer a 60-day money back guarantee. I was disappointed about their sales approach. If it's difficult to reach a salesman with questions, how would it be trying to reach technical support with problems??
  • Touch4Wash devices are $500 each, and can handle up to 4 functions. Processing fees are 3.5% + 20 cents per transaction. Service fees are $65 / month + 5 cents a transaction. Customers don't need to download the app to use the services. They can use their old phone, not a smart phone. Though customers need a good connection to the network.
  • WashCard is expensive. Devices are $395 each (access points). You need 1 for each bay, vacuum. Onboarding is additional $29.95 per site. Uwash App is 10% per transaction. Processing fees are 3% + 30 cents per transaction.

I might have to revisit Touch4Wash. I didn't realize that the customers can activate the wash without the app.

I've been a WashCard customer for YEARS. GREAT COMPANY and the service and equipment is TOP NOTCH. With that said, you are going to pay DEARLY in terms of equipment costs and fees. I believe you're looking at an almost 10% all in fee when customers are using the app and tap to pay

One of the reasons I went with coinless is wireless hookup and operation. The wireless relays on the vacuums work as long as you mount them under the dome. I tried mounting one inside the cabinet and it wouldn't connect. They appear to be using inexpensive off the shelf components that you can buy of Amazon for $30(wireless relays). But they've obviously developed the back end structure to control them and store the data. Hard wiring the vacuums would require 5-10K in conduit work and I'm not willing to implement that unless the system gains full steam.

Just adding my 2 cents here since I had been following the thread for a while.
I tried Beacon Mobile, had some issues and moved on. Now I am working with WashCard and I am very pleased. Before I decided for WashCard I tried Coin4Less and wasn't too impressed with the customer service.
Just started to install the Washcard system and test it. Had to make the transition in a hurry since my old EMV reader went belly up unexpectedly, so not all my marketing is in place yet, but the transition from one reader to the other was seamless, and now we are working on setting up the app funtionality. Washcard answers their phone and actually have technically knowledge personnel you can talk to (and they are friendly, unlike some other business.).
I will follow up once I make more progress.

Just talked to the owner of everwash. They have purchased coinless and plan on continuing operations pretty much as is. The system should remain functional and they plan to improve it as they feel it would compliment their business. So, a big relief as far as I’m concerned. All Tech support will now come from everwash.

Thanks for posting. They were going to be my first visit tomorrow. I'm hoping they update the app now to add additional functionality and actually have someone for support at EverWash that is easy to work with.

If Genesis/cryptopay would open their API and allow other companies to interface (remote start) with their system like Everwash can, it would be great.

I visited the booth yesterday. The Everwash/Coinless deal just closed yesterday. Everwash is interested in the hardware that Coinless has as they are tired of using WashCard and other companies for their hardware. They have no idea what they want to do moving forward as everything was just new. Their main goal was the hardware, so I am not overly optimistic that they will keep/develop Coinless as is. It seems that there is a great chance the service will end and they will just use the hardware for their own benefits. At least there is some hope as from what I gathered, Coinless was not going to continue much longer on their own as they were just too busy with other projects to support this one and were on the verge of ending. I looked around for alternatives, but didn't' see anything that piqued my interest.

Thank you for the update Slash007. Interesting about Coinless. I really hope Everwash picks up support and will continue to develop the app. We've been using it since September 2022, and usage has increased exponentially. 14% of our customers now use it and love it!!

I received the same email, but with my name listed of course. Hoping they actually keep it and make it better, but worst case I'm ok if they just keep it going. I do have another location I would love to add if they start allowing that.

Hmm... does anyone use the Everwash program for their tunnels/IBA?

I am interested in doing the Coinless route for my SS bays but now thinking it may help with my tunnel and IBA as well.

I had a customer that was charged $878 after using the app, so I refunded him the emailed support . First, I've never had this happen. 2nd, Braden answered the email.... Anyone know if he's back in the fold?

My customers & I were having all sorts of network problems with the Coinless app on Wednesday 6/5. Either the app was NOT turning on, or NOT turning off!! 😣 Customers were upset. I was on-site and couldn't access the Owner's Portel. I thought it was my internet, and cycled power to the modem. When that didn't fix the problem, I reached out to Coinless, and heard back from Connor later that day. He said they did an upgrade and some users had issues. I thought that was the end of it, until the next day when 2 customers contacted me - very upset!! One was charged $72 and the other $113. My Coinless portel didn't even show those charges. At first I thought it was a scam, until I checked the Cardpointe report (card processing company) and saw the charges. I quickly refunded them their money, along with a sincere apology. In the future, Ever Wash / Coinless should contact customers when they do software upgrades.
