I second that ^^^^^

We switched to count down and it’s the best thing we ever did. So many are firm on count-up. I get that studies and anecdotes and intuition would suggest that count-up is the best option, but in our situation, the stop button issue ruins it’s convenience

we switched to 4 wash packages and our complaints stopped IMMEDIATELY and our CC revenue is up 50% in the last 2 months since. I can’t explain, I just throw stuff at the wall until something sticks and this one, for us at least, REALLY stuck
Interesting. What pricing packages are you using?

Also, curious if your complaints were about the button functionality, or simply the fact that people didn't know to press the stop button and then later realized they had a larger than expected CC charge?

Mine was the firmware issue mostly, but there were a few other factors. It's $3 to start and we offer four options - $3, $6, $12, $15. We had just over a 20% increase at this sight and are in the process of switching over our others. You're selling time remember, and now there's never an issue with forgetting to stop the meter. We also really push our app, it's a wonderful tool for loyalty/customer retention.

That's great. Yeah, I never get complaints in hindsight about folks forgetting to stop, but in the moment when the button is not very responsive and they panic.

Which app are you using? Coinless?

Sorry for my absence…

Our packages are now $4,$7,$10,$13. Zero problems anymore with Monex and complaints have ceased there. It’s great having that headache gone

We have 1 bay with a Nayax still on count up for those who like that option, but I still get complaints uncommonly when they can’t figure out the button. However, nayax’s button is way more user friendly and you can issue a refund or a portion of a transaction from Nayax in seconds.

as far as what was the original problem? My complaints were all the above with the Monex readers, but mostly $15 pre-auth notifications freaking people out and the stop button literally not doing anything. I had to assist a woman one day and I held the button for 25 seconds before it stopped. That was enough for me.
Yes the film was removed and I had the old software

Dick, what's your average ticket price with those 4 prices? TIA
Last 3 months for bays only, no vacs = $5.92avg

Oct avg was $6.26

A lot of minimum charges lately since large volumes of people have rushed through to just spray the salt off. I’m eager to see how this changes coming into the spring
