Any tips on how to locate a floor heat leak?

Take a shovel and cover the hole area with a light dusting of snow...IF your able to run the boiler then look for the melting spot.
If your able to shut off zones you can shut all down and open one at a time with air pressure in the lines

A local firemen I know came up to my wash at night with their infrared camera. It gives decent images but not perfect. Most local fire companies have these cameras now.

We just got our floor heat back up and operational with 3/4 of the loops working after finding a leak we just shut off the loops that we think are the problem until summer time when we can tear up concrete and repair them it turns out that the pex tubing was ran too far in our exit and they made a cut line in the concrete above it then this winter the concrete heaved and snapped/pinched the pex $$$$

This might not be for everyone but I actually used R7 braided hi pressure hydraulic hose with the smallest bend radius that I could find for part of our deicer add on section & even a floor heat section. I got the idea from when I allowed a contractor with a local wholesaler use what seemed to be a lot less tough hose in a contract situation ---- I don't think either specific hose is made anymore nowadays but there could be others with the suitable bend radius etc. Time will tell if --- it was the best decision. I figure if it keeps pace with heating requirement --- the heat efficiency should not be different --- I could be wrong.
