The ones where the sun doesn't shine. Blue skies mean busy washes. Its that simple. Is it just me or May is slower than other months, March and April was crazy...
What are the slow months in this industry?
yea thats why im gona build a washateria next to my carwash... this is way too slow for me. It just getting finance that is giving me so much trouble....especially all the paperwork for SBA loan.My best months are from Thanksgiving to Mother's Day. I think that might hold true for most of the Northeast. Of course, I have had 54 of the last 64 days with rain here. That and $4 gallon gas prices have brought my business to a grinding halt. Next weeks forecast... 5 days of rain. Remind me never to get into a business that is so closely tied to weather in the future!
and the link is??? Seriously are the summer months slower for the rest of you guys? Cause i want to find out why the sudden drop from march and april....and its not weather related. Its hot and dry over here. I just hope its not our fault cause that one incident...cause you know bad news travel fast. Plus we were forced to shut down for 4 days...grrrrLook at Soapy's Blog.
He has an interesting report on the weather factor and its direct correlation to sales.

Yes, bad news does travel fast, but not to that many people. I think you have the same problem I have - it gets too darned hot for people to come out and wash. I have experienced the same scary end of April/May slowdown. Every year now for the last 6 years. It is like someone turns the switch off in May (school ends) and turns it back on in September (school begins).and the link is??? Seriously are the summer months slower for the rest of you guys? My answer was for my car wash, not everyones. In North east Ohio, sunshine is a limited commodity. The ones where the sun doesn't shine. Blue skies mean busy washes. Its that simple.
For Cleveland, OH...
About 66 days of sunshine. The remaining 299 days consist of 97 partly cloudy and 202 cloudy days. Yes, 202 cloudy days! We've gone 2 weeks straight (usually in the winter) without seeing so much as a spec of sunshine.
Percentage-wise that breaks down to:
18% Sunny days
27% Partly Cloudy days
55% Cloudy days
Keep in mind too that during December, January and February we only have 9 sunny days on average throughout the entire 3 month span. (9 sunny days vs. 68 cloudy days). That's only 3 days per month folks. Not good. Only 4 other major US cities have less sunshine than Cleveland (Seattle, Portland, Buffalo and Pittsburgh).
