We are currently using Simoniz Hot Wax and Lava (Lava Foam, Lava Clean, Lava Low, and Lava Sealer). For all of the people that are offering these types of products, what chemical are you using and at what dilution? The Simoniz chemicals work GREAT but cost an ARM AND A LEG. Trying to see what other operators are using for their bath style arches/bubblizers......

I would think that if your getting the extra service and $$$ then cost would already be factored in. I can't help you but I am curious about what other operators say.

First I guess the rumors are true, You boughta boat. It's sitting in your simonize reps driveway;)

Had been using KR Cherry foam brush for my bubblizer.

Had about 6 reps say they could beat KR price and performance. Their scalps are hanging on my wall. However, now, a local guy has met the Challenge and I am switching over to his product for this application.

Many of my clients use Hot Wax and Shine (applied as lava bath) and make lots of money with it. How much depends where you are located. Typically sells for $4.00 to $6.00 as upgrade. COGS are $1.00 to $1.25.

Simoniz’s other “lava” product is Lava Shield Program which is a 4-step paint sealant process that does not include or contain “hot wax and shine.” Shield replaces double bond in product line.

I also have clients that created their own brand of hot wax and shine. This means they bought arches and a clone product (i.e. regional blender) that contains equivalent active ingredients to impart the desired effect.

Equivalent means the product contains carnauba or a synthetic wax that imparts super-hydrophobic properties as well as smoothness, depth and shine and ability to hold up for about 30 days.

Lava bath application and light show is glitz because hot wax isn’t hot temperature wise.

Anyone can buy arches with lights and apply soap to create lava or bubble effect.

However, if the active ingredient is a drying agent or siliconized soap, the results will simply not measure up to those produced with hot wax.

Everyone is on the bandwagon now. For example, MacNeil makes Aqua Foamer, Sonny’s has one, Vaughan sells a clone (Tsunami), KC sells Sun Shield foaming bath and Gorilla Wax (contains carnauba), etc.

I remember the first "HOT WAX" arch in the 1960's from Ed Holbus out of Wisconsin. The Package had an arch with bears on it and a heater that wrapped arond the 55 Gallon drum that you had to plug in.

Ed was the guy that sued major chemical companies over the usage of the term wax.
