Many of my clients use Hot Wax and Shine (applied as lava bath) and make lots of money with it. How much depends where you are located. Typically sells for $4.00 to $6.00 as upgrade. COGS are $1.00 to $1.25.
Simoniz’s other “lava” product is Lava Shield Program which is a 4-step paint sealant process that does not include or contain “hot wax and shine.” Shield replaces double bond in product line.
I also have clients that created their own brand of hot wax and shine. This means they bought arches and a clone product (i.e. regional blender) that contains equivalent active ingredients to impart the desired effect.
Equivalent means the product contains carnauba or a synthetic wax that imparts super-hydrophobic properties as well as smoothness, depth and shine and ability to hold up for about 30 days.
Lava bath application and light show is glitz because hot wax isn’t hot temperature wise.
Anyone can buy arches with lights and apply
soap to create lava or bubble effect.
However, if the active ingredient is a drying agent or siliconized
soap, the results will simply not measure up to those produced with hot wax.
Everyone is on the bandwagon now. For example, MacNeil makes Aqua Foamer, Sonny’s has one, Vaughan sells a clone (Tsunami), KC sells Sun Shield foaming bath and Gorilla Wax (contains carnauba), etc.
