    Marketing Plan - Direct Mail

I?m working on my marketing plan for when I open our car wash next year. I?ve decided to use direct mail using large, full color postcards. We have a total of 30,000 households within a 2.5 mile radius I?m trying to decided between these two offers? 1. I?d send 10,000 postcards per month...

Please HELP new IBA owner with low revenue & high traffic counts

You need to advertise!! …especially since you’re not on the main road. Use direct mail offering a free car wash. The community needs to know where you’re at. The best way to get lots of people in, in the shortest amount of time is by offering a free car wash. Next, I would purchase some...

    What?s Fair and Just Restitution

This guy is illegally dumping trash, stereotyping him as a ?bad car wash customer? is not a good idea. This guy could be a car enthusiast who keeps his cars clean weekly. You?ve now just sent him running to your competitor down the street. Yeah, I?d be mad as hell if I found that garbage in...

    What?s Fair and Just Restitution

You might as well get all you can get because you’ve already lost them as a future customer. Although I don’t agree with what they have done, I think I would have showed up at their door, informed them that what they did was illegal and that you’re not pressing charges this time. I would have...

    *Complimentary Towel Dry Station*

Wow, I like this idea!! Do you have attendants on site currently that would be doing this or would you need to hire additional people? EDIT: When I first read your post, I thought you meant you’d have attendants drying the cars. I like this idea better then offering free towels.

Need advise/feedback on location & plan for new car wash

That’s very good advise and I agree with you guys whole heartedly about the term. However, my plan is to pay the loan off way before the full term. The nice thing about a 25 year term is that during slow times you’re not strapped to a high mortgage payment.

Need advise/feedback on location & plan for new car wash

Hi John, Thank you for your detailed feedback, I appreciate it. You bring up several really good points which I?m going to consider. I have a day job, that I was planning on keeping for at least 3 to 5 years or until the car wash business takes off. My plan was to stop by the wash for a...

Need advise/feedback on location & plan for new car wash

What would be a better loan structure? With this type of car wash: - (2) touch-free automatic bays - (5) self-serve bays - (4) vacuum islands w/ 8 vacs (4 of which are 3-in-1) - vending at each of the vac islands - car count of 31,000 per day - no competition within 1 mile - newer technology...

The base price for the one automatic is $75K, however when I went through the bid and eliminated all the upgrades, accessories and labor for the one automatic it came out to about $130K.

Need advise/feedback on location & plan for new car wash

I didn?t quite say that. I was saying it would take $20K per month to make a 1.2 million dollar project worth it. Although, I would think within a year, along with some aggressive advertising, I could see $20K a month from this location? $1500 per self-serve bay as the national average, plus...

Need advise/feedback on location & plan for new car wash

    2. My number one concern at this point and the area I?m looking to receive the most feedback/advise on, is my total project cost. Here is a breakdown of my up-front costs: $300,000 land $400,000 building/construction $400,000 equipment (2 - D&S QuickSilvers and 5 - self-serve bays) $100,000...

I haven’t completely decided on this location, however I am strongly considering it. You are right though, I am looking for feedback from those who have been in the industry a long time. I can take constructive criticism and good advise, but reassurance that I’ve made a few good decisions is...
