    Warsaw 534 wonder plus

CFCW, I use Warsaw 576 Finisher in Mark seven automatics with Bluewhite duplex pumps to inject the soap. It is my understanding that 576 is just like 534 but with added alkalinity. I run the 576 at about 85-90 drops using Warsaws titration kit. Question 1: do you titration the 534/hotshot...

    In bay brush automatics

I have a friction machine next to a touchless, I feel this is a great combination but I don't compete with conveyer washes. Volume is almost identical on each machine after 10 years. My machine is a Wesumat and repair parts are very expensive. I would consider another Wesumat when I buy my next...

RDM electronics has the printers for about $600 give or take a little. I bought one for one of my 10 year old WS2's a few months ago. Doug P

Reducing Winter Troubles and Utility Costs in SS Bays

The "Wind Chill" affects anything that is warmer than the ambient temperature. Enclosing one end would significantly lower the demand on your underfloor heat. Some operators put a cheap roll up door on one end to accomplish this. The Super Wash chain uses the roll up doors at most of their...

    Mosmatic spinners

A 5cp is rated at 4 gpm and with a total of eight 1501's that should be a sufficient volume to get 1000 psi which should turn the spinners. Probably something i am missing but i have 4 sets of them and they turn great at 1000psi. Doug P

    Hi/Lo or Lo/Hi presoak

Good question. We have been running Lo/Hi for 20 years and we just switched one location to Hi/Lo as an experiment. There are advantages to both methods and it depends on the type of dirt/film on the cars you are washing in your area.

    What lights for my awning?

IB I replaced the HO canopy lights In two of my Campbellsville locations earlier this year with T8's. I replaced the 330 Scottsdales In the bays with T5's at the same time. 2 with motion sensors and two without for each bay. Bought them from Smart Lighting Solutions after someone from the...

    Cat Pumps or Arimitsu Pumps

I bought a new Mark 7 GT500 in 2003 that had 2 Armitsu pumps on it. They lasted all of 10 months before they had to be replaced with Cat pumps. I don't know if Mark 7 used them in an application they were not designed for or they were just of poor quality. I have had about 40 Cat 5CP's in...

    Air Compressor Size

Size does matter with air compressors. I have 30 some air compressors that range in size from 5 to 20 hp in different applications and never once have I said, I wish I had bought a smaller AC. I have a 6/2 that has a heavy duty 7.5 hp and that should handle any combination you would have at...

    Best value on vacuums?

11 of them are Fragramatics and the other nine are IVS(the ones IVS makes). For the record the select-a-vacs(2 or 3 motor selection) from IVS have been trouble free. I am considering having Fragramatics refurbish some of them, anyone out there that has had this done? New decals, domes, led...

    Best value on vacuums?

I have about 20 combo vacs with the first ones being purchased about 13 years ago. Compared to a regular vac they are very, very high maintenance. It has been my experience that they don't produce much more revenue than a standard vac either. Having said that, I have one self serve location...

    Wesumat Hub Scrub Motor

I just bought a new motor for the hubscrub on my wesumat softwash, it was $1423.89. This has been a very expensive machine to maintain. Anyone have a cheaper source for this motor? I am assuming the other side will go out in the near future. Doug P.

    Hamilton ACW Credit Card Reliability

I purchased 2 new Hamilton ACW's with the credit card option in 1999. The credit card part of the machines were a disaster. I replaced them with WashGear a few years ago and the Washgear system has been very reliable and a great company to work with. I also bought 2 new Unitec WSII's in 2003...

    Doors for IBA

ICA Convention Intriguing things - Wish List

Mars had a bill validator with a bill recycler on it. If you put in a five or ten it will give you bills back for change over the vend price. I don't think I would want it in my bays, but it is an interesting concepts for vacs, vending machines and paystations. It wasn't much larger than a...

    Low Credit Card Merchant Charges

I looked at last years P&L and after all the hidden fees I paid 5.3% on my Washgear systems. I have one location that has 2 Wash Select 2 and an American token station. They run one to two percent higher than this with a different company. Doug P.
