Foam brush soap for HP soap?

It didn't smell sweet to me, it really smelled like a banana split. I think it was whatever added the smell of nuts. I know people with a severe aversion to walnuts, even the smell.

    Spot free and dry

I tried to do it with a Belanger Vector, but was never able to get the unit to start without at least one presoak cycle. I like the idea, and I had customers asking for it.

Foam brush soap for HP soap?

I used to order fragrance additive from Windtrax, I think it was made by JBS, but I can't find it now. I don't think people care that much, in fact we sold something that was supposed to smell like a loaded banana split, and some people said the smell made them feel sick.

Educating Myself on the Industry - Should I get involved?

The only issues I see is that the area looks pretty affluent, which means people who might be less likely to wash their own cars. The automatic bay would be your key to profit. I might offer a free vacuum token with a wash purchase and let the regular self serve customers pay. It also looks...

The presoak, tire cleaner, and air come together at the cross on the left. The spot free is on the right. Those and the high pressure connect to another cross and go straight into the boom.

Presoak and tire cleaner can be run through the high pressure boom. For best results, it needs to tee in at the boom, so it will hook up the same way as the foam brush. Same with spot free rinse. You don't want to have to fill the high pressure line with a low pressure function. I went by a...

Educating Myself on the Industry - Should I get involved?

Some states will require sales tax on vending, you'll have to get a permit, and probably have to put a sticker on each machine. In Texas we have the option to collect sales tax, but we aren't required to pay it if we don't have a sales tax permit, and the state seems to be happy collecting the...

I don't understand what you mean. You mount the system, plumb water and air to it, run a pair of tubing lines to each bay and attach those to a separate boom. Run a wire from the rotary switch from each bay to the solenoids...

You need something like this to add a low pressure system. I don't like these because of the block style solenoids and the tank is open, but it's cheap and simple. For foam brush, you need a second boom in the bay, this system, and tubing...

You want self service equipment for your mobile golf cart service?

Never listen to Kleen-Rite about what you should do to your car wash. You'll want to eliminate those zero-pressure regulators. They work well when they're working, but they're expensive and fail frequently, and you can't get soap or wax to the pump when they fail. You want a tank about 15...

You need to add separate systems. Tire cleaner, presoak, foam brush, spot free. There's no point in having more than one high pressure soap. Just use a good one. Since you're basically starting from scratch, you might consider putting tire cleaner and presoak on a separate gun. Foam brush...

Educating Myself on the Industry - Should I get involved?

I don't know. The info I gave was from a survey from years ago. None that I'm aware of. I would say as long as you follow advice from here, you can't go wrong. Stick to the basics I mentioned above. I have turned over many washes, without raising prices, with my biggest success being one...

Foam brush soap for HP soap?

I know several operators who use soaps that are just scented foaming agents. They do absolutely nothing for cleaning. Someone might notice, but as long as they see suds I doubt anyone will complain. Better than nothing, for sure.

Why would you want more than one high pressure soap? You have a lot of extra wires coming from the bay. Just use one of those, extend the wire to reach one wire plug on the transformer, and bring the "common" to the other side.

    Have an old hydrospray system

That breaker is on the 240V side. It's there as a shutoff for the power TO the transformer. What does "kicking out water" mean exactly?

Had a customer who almost ripped and bent our tire brush arm off the wall.

You might want to put a breakaway fitting at the boom. If that happens again, it'll break a $4 brass fitting that's meant to be easily replaced without an extractor.

    Have an old hydrospray system

The "hot" side of the transformer need to split off and go to every bay to power the timer and coin acceptor. The "common" needs to go to everything, every bay, one side of every solenoid, contactor, etc. The white wire is the common. All those white wires should have a main lead back to...

Educating Myself on the Industry - Should I get involved?

Most of the self-serve car wash repairs are easy. Automatics are a lot harder to diagnose and repair. You'll want to find a distributor with a tech who can teach you things, or just sign a service cotract and let them deal with repairs and maintenance. If you don't want to or can't do...

This has been discussed many, many times. Do a search, and look at anything that relates to your system. In the future, try to make your thread title more descriptive. Look at everything, make sure you didn't do something like push all the extra hose into your pail so the pickup looped up out...
