    ODD Smelly Question

A wash should most definitely force water in areas that rain does not. It just seems to me that your wash would have this smell and it would be rather pervasive in the wash if you are noticing after the fact on the car.

    Erie hogs hair

There are also Inkfish brushes. I never tried them, but it is another alternative.

    Treadle systems

If you like customers having a target, you can keep the treadle steel, but use photo eyes to actuate the wash instead of the mechanical switch.

    ODD Smelly Question

That is odd. Do you smell the foul smell anywhere in the wash or is it only on the car itself? Are you getting a good rinse? Maybe residual wash water that has not been flushed out of the various drainage tracts around the bottom of the windshield where the wipers rest, or in the door...

    ODD Smelly Question

When I park in my garage after I go through my tunnel, I get the scent of my final sealer or drying agent that is applied. What scent are you getting after your wash?

can somebody please identify this OLD car wash I found on weburbanist.com

Could be a very early N/S design that I have never seen before. They have a pretty high presence in the drive through/dealership market. Not sure they ever used hydraulic motors though. My bet is still a home made/ very small manufacturer.

can somebody please identify this OLD car wash I found on weburbanist.com

It wasn’t uncommon in the 1970’s and 1980’s to find some small, regional manufacturers that pretty much made “homemade “ equipment. This looks like it might be from that era and could be a one of very few machines from a small, never really heard of company.

    Petit - Accutrack 360i

They are not currently listed on eBay. They were sold a while back. They are not on the car wash consignment site. It really doesn’t matter- they are no longer available anyway.

    Petit - Accutrack 360i

I’ve seen the IBA’s on various sites. One was actually on eBay. Again, not a lot of them out at this point, relatively speaking, to see many used ones.

Automatic Car Wash Systems for Mexico

Please be more specific - $75K: without blowers, without paystation and without installation, plumbing and electrical? I don’t believe there is any feasible machine in that range. Perhaps some bare- bones, dealership level machine with none of the above added expenses, but I even doubt...

    Petit - Accutrack 360i

Several have come up for sale used - I have seen them online. They will definitely not be as prominent as the washworlds, PDQ etc. because they do not have the volume of machines out yet that the other manufacturers have.

White streaks/spots when temps are under 45°

One last thought - if it is condensation on your blowers. Are your blower housings and ducts plastic or metal? I would think your chances of getting condensation would be greater with metal, and also pose a bigger chance of generating some type of sediment when condensation forms on the...

White streaks/spots when temps are under 45°

If he’s a good person you hit the jackpot (and probably had something to do with it along the way). Someone will buy your wash - let him be him and be happy!

White streaks/spots when temps are under 45°

I’ve just never seen this related to temperature. I’ve seen it before on cars, but it’s been regardless of temp. Good advice on the posts above.

White streaks/spots when temps are under 45°

Not sure what you have going on there. If no chemicals were used and you are getting that, it seems like a water quality issue to me. As far as heated blowers, most tunnel operators I know will have gas fired heaters in the area around their blowers and blower intakes. Something like a...

    Graphene

I understand what you are saying, and yes, you can get similar results with fewer products. No impact on throughput for me though , as I have a tunnel. I do, however, think that in a tiered menu system, it is easier for customers to opt for a higher priced package when they see the offerings...

How to start a self service car wash

Not by me - that is exactly what I did and strongly suggest it to all future investors. I worked at a gas station wash, a rollover and self serve location and cloth exterior all in the 1980’s and early 1990’s to get experience. These were my high school and college jobs. Also my prep for...

    Lease a car wash

Both posts above have all great points. Also - how long is this lease for? Can the owner break it at a specified time? Like was already said, you could potentially be paying for the rehab of someone else’s wash.
