Anyone taking advantage of the coin shortage to raise prices?

We are pretty sure some sneaky fellow business person came in on Sunday & got $100 in one setting. Why ... every $20 bill (brand new) had consecutive serial numbers. Exasperating ... sure we could go back on camera & see the rascal ... female or male ... but then what??? Since we staff...

    Electric apron heat?

Some geographical climates like here in ND ... it snows even at way below 0°F. That also would be a factor for using it like Earl made note of.

Anyone taking advantage of the coin shortage to raise prices?

That makes sense based on Jerome Powell's statement about the Federal Reserve needed 80% return to banks vs 20% new coins??? Coin handling fees that started a few years ago did not help one bit IMHO.

Anyone taking advantage of the coin shortage to raise prices?

I wonder how Representative John Rose from Tennessee is coming with his bi-partison bill or if it was just lip service when he questioned the Fed Reserve head on the potential "systemic" get rid of all cash game some merchant fee executives are playing. I think it is worth it for the general...

    Electric apron heat?

I wonder how big of a solar panel - wind turbine with battery would generate enough electricity to avoid the kW to BTU cost??? You would not need a circulating pump & antifreeze. Maybe for small areas with less sq footage???

Convert a bay to several pet washes?

It seems like Hoffman? in NY has a successful air conditioned 5 star 3 stall dog wash. We do not regret putting in our polycarbonate "well ventilated breeze way" style of a 2 room dog wash. As long as we maintain enough manpower to stay on top of everything ... it is a good fit for us. Ours...

    Rebuilding a Mosmatic Z-Boom

ScottV & others, Our Mosmatic (Hydrospray) Z boom version may be different than yours but if I remember right there is a snap ring that that also should be replaced ... it seems like that snap ring can rust??? On ours the exact same Stainless Steel lawn mower bearings can be bought on Amazon...

    Coin Shortage??????

I agree with OurTown. The following is one of the better articles I have read that reflects Flex Wand's & many other of our observations. I tend to try at almost all cost to avoid trying to make cases for proper government intervention. Just so the media doesn't hype the 100% cashless...

    Coin Shortage??????

The ideal solution IMHO is for some of us to .... Step 1: Make sure we accept dollar coins besides just quarters. Step 2: Have a built into the reinforced ER wall "like a fortress" ATM that allows ... especially our self service car wash customers ... a choice of getting whatever combination...

    Coin Shortage??????

Write or leave a message for your specific congressional delegation. I tried. Too few of concerns does not help our cause. Otherwise they might think it is not a factor for us. Be careful how you word it to the media & the politicians. They have been known to twist things.... some might...

Customer complains that ss high pressure removed clear coat. Help me respond plz

Soonermajic Quote: "Usually happens when folks are trying to remove bugs or tar. Even happened to MY OWN DAUGHTER'S car, @ OUR wash. " I was dumb enough to think that the solution for baked on bugs was holding the nozzle closer to the front bumper. I even showed a customer that if it was close...

    Coin Shortage??????

Hopefully, this problem will tend to be temporary. This is what I posted on a similar thread over at our coin laundry association forum: Just to let everyone know there is value to listen to the words said during relevant to our industry & the specific less wealthy people we serve ... as to the...

Customer complains that ss high pressure removed clear coat. Help me respond plz

Bert79, I remember about 15 years ago a person tried to get me to pay him because the detail shop's just put on "over 5 year guaranteed" sealant came off supposedly at our self service car wash. The bizarre part about the proposition ... the detail shop owner appeared to be the biggest...

Just need to check myself on wiring 24vac

I will try to get back to you on that. If I remember right ... it was not just related to car wash equipment but other parts of our facility. I wish I was able to be more specific at this time but I believe the issues were related to "electrical noise". Of course there can be other causes for...

Just need to check myself on wiring 24vac

Ever since my electronic electrical engineer nephew (former part time help when he was 15 years old (pre certified-safety control engineer at that time) ..... over 12 years ago during a moonlighting episode ... steered us into making sure that one side of transformers are tied in with both the...

    Coins in short supply....

Earl ... I don't totally agree with you on this one. There are other mitigation concerns. I was pointing out that the ability to use coins can help mitigate the pandemic more than other modes of payment such as too many one dollar bills! IMHO ... I think the merchant fee masters of...

    Coins in short supply....

There should be more people shedding light on some the twisting of facts when it comes to mitigating factors for the Covid-19. From my perspective .... for coins that are 88% copper being replaced by other transactional means ... especially during the pandemic is a bad faith path. It is not...

    Good Job, Kleen-Rite

Some states are stricter than others it seems when it comes to "use" tax auditing. Some auditors sent by the individual state ... it can appear like they came straight from hell ... I am not sure if the overzealous ones ... are just going out of their way to win points with the top elected...

    Cat 310 Valves

My intention is not to change the subject of this thread ... but I notice that if someone is ordering a Cat 310 brand new from KR ... their Stainless Sleeved version is less than $100 more than the standard Cat 310. Is that SS version as good or possibly better than a resleeved rebuilt used...
