Greg, sounds like you need a metric crescent wrench.

    Air Compressor recommendation

Before I was a car wash operator my family had tire stores. Quincy always proved itself to be the best with a good Ingersol Rand behind them. I only have qunicy now and have never had a problem with them with 2 of them over 25 years old and one 20 and the other 18 years old.

    Free Vacs At Self-Serve?

My tokens dispensed from my auto cashiers are also accepted for a $1 credit the next time they buy another automatic wash. I only give .25 cents per token in the SS bays because people would show up several times per day trying to grab uncollected tokens.

Recommendations for currency sorter and change sorter

Scan COin 303 for coins and sorting. I use Cummins dual pocket for the bills. Most banks use the Cummins also. Not cheap but a great time saver.

    The "Tools I love" thread

I just keep a full set of tools at each location so I don't have to pack tools around. Now on my RZR that is a different story as I carry everything with it for repairs. I won't make it to Nashville this year so I guess Greg will have to show everyone going his pouch and tools there.

Considering upgrade to accept credit cards....Need Input

Wash Gear sells a system that has its own box and all you have to do is run a cat5 line to it and one to the selector switch. I run various CC units for SS bays and my wash gear units always sell more in credit cards than my locations that do not use it for Credit cards.

    Self Wash Bay Systems

I agree with the rest of the folks here. But if I were looking at a new SS system I would give Etowah valley equipment a shot at it You can buy new bay boxes from them and small auxilary functions if needed. The customer would think it was all brand new.

    Razor cleaning

You can buy a simoniz titration kit for around $15 from Kleenrite. Like Greg said around 20 drops seems to be a good place to start. Most rotary pumps impellers are good to 140 degrees but most chemical supplies have told me that anything over 120 degrees is detrimental to cleaning. Test your...

    Foam brush heads

MY new NOgs hair have been through the last 3 weeks of pretty heavy use due to the people who only wash their vehicles after a long winter. They have to come in and really scrub to get all the salt and film off their vehicles and all the crap out of the back of their pickups and trailers. No...

    Wall Panel Experience

FRP is the least likely to allow "scratchers" to carve letters in. No problem in my area but in California they are a big problem.

I used nylon rivets that are exposed and did not put it on ceiling. About the price of frp last time I checked.

    Free Vacs At Self-Serve?

I would not give your vacs away to everyone. I use a token teller to give out a token on my automatic washes good for 1 vac cycle or a $1 off the next wash. I think you will attract freeloaders and bet your 80% figure is way over what you actually will see.

What blade for Chop Saw to make my own hoses?

I use a Dewalt metal cutoff saw with the thinnest Dewalt blade when I cut my angle iron for my custom made album tables.

    Sewer Problem

I keep a 100 foot HP hose on hand for bay cleaning and simple sewer line cleaning. I attach a sewer cleaning tip onto the hose and attach the hose to one of the bays HP line and feed it down the sewer line. The tip has one forward facing jet and 4 backward facing jet so that it will pull itself...

    KR- Excessive Shipping Charges

With my vacation house about 50 miles away from their Vegas warehouse I guess I better start doing pickups there and get free freight and write off the trip. Problem is I checked on what credit they would give me if I picked up my pallet orders and it was only like $250 off even though they say...

What blade for Chop Saw to make my own hoses?

I use a small cordless mini grinder with a metal cut off wheel. Works great and very handy for many other things around the wash.

    Ryco/National Carwash Solutions

If you are doing a 2 step presoak wash the price is not bad for chemicals. I would do all but 1 wash with a double pass. You won't get RainX but probably their version which is called Rain shield I think. I spend about .30 cents per car on a double pass High PH presoak. but I have heard of...

    Bay giving out free washes

I used to have timers do this and usually I could just cut the power to it for a few seconds and then power it back up and all was fine. This has worked on at least 3 different brand of timers I have had so try that first before spending money.
