    Tankless Water heater.

I have had a few paloma tankless water heaters. 199k units you can adjust the temperature rise by restricting the water flow with a dial on the front. i use 1 per SS bay. In my case I found using a single Voyager 80 gallon 199k water heater worked better for me. 1 unit supplies all the hot Water...

RYKO 2001 OHD - Cannot get presoak going

I always Prime my booster pump by running a wire from output 17 to 34. This open the fresh water valve which is under pressure to fill the pump. Another thing you can do is loosen the hot out side of the pump by the union to make it easier to prime..

    Pet Peeve: Crime --

In the last year i have had 3 different people drive into my buildings do major damage and then try to drive away and sneak off. Good thing I have cameras and caught all of them. One claim was 150K. This is a type of crime since they were all charged with felony hit and runs.

    Pet Peeve: Crime --

Early in my car wash career I came across a guy who had lived off ripping off car washes for over 25 years. He started in FLorida and was finally caught after about 20 years there so he migrated to the Northwest. He had several methods of stealing but did not leave evidence of his thefts. My...

Pet Peeve: Never getting to relax

Prior to my son coming back I had a 20 year employee who I could trust and did to run things while I was gone. I paid him well and even provided a vehicle. He finally landed a government job and I could not compete with all the perks they offered. Randy and the rest are right you have to train...

IBA doors opening for no reason?

Is it possible that someone paid for 2 washes not knowing it? That would explain why the entrance opened when the guy exited. Then after so long the wash defaults to let the ghost wash out. What brand of openers do you have?

Some things I learned the first year operating a car wash

If something breaks and it is not too expensive I usually buy at least 2 so I have a spare for the next time so I can minimize down time. Usually the down time you save will pay for the extra part many times over.

Pet Peeve: Loiterers who dilly dally

There will always be a certain percentage of people who will hang around no matter how many signs you put up. I only hurry them along if we are busy or they are doing something wrong. They usually show up at the busiest of times it seems.

    Replacing IBA

I was in a local town a couple of days ago and they had just reloaded their old super wash with 2 new IBAs. I will try and get back down there and look to see what they put in.

IBA doors opening for no reason?

When I shut my rykos down I always use the emergency stop button and have never had a problem with the doors opening since this shuts the door Kit off. Having both doors open leads me to think it was triggered by the car wash controller. When you shut the IBA down don't use the toggle switch...

    Replacing IBA

Bank financing might require as much a 50% down depending on your credit. In the past I have done a lease/ purchase on several IBas that required nothing down but did have a slightly higher interest rate than going through the local bank. 5 year term with a simple $1 buyout at the end.

    In bay heat recommendations

Ambi rad is the brand of radiant tube heaters I use in addition to Ultimate products. I much prefer the Ambi Rad heaters that I buy direct without the ultimate product name on it. I have at least 75,000 BTU burners in each bay. I like the units that have the heater and blower in one box on the...
