    Wheel counter on Wizard

Your safety eyes should keep that from happening. I think the prox counts a certain amount of pulses after the eyes make at the rear. I do not believe it is an item that can be changed. Have you checked your two sets of safety eyes?

    Sewer Costs

This particular location has one IBA, and 5 self-serve bays. The 8-10% is fairly consistent all year long. Strange, huh?

    Sewer Costs

My town allowed me to put in a sewer meter. Ofcourse I read the same articles that said evap, carryoff, etc. was 20-25%. Nope, nope, nope. It was, and is a very disappointing 8-10% at my location. I do have reclaim. I am not sure why it is so low. On a windy day, you can certainly see it...

Boom error on Water Wizard 1.0

Negative.....it has been very frustrating. I am waiting for prox cables to come in so that I can replace them, as someone suggested. I just do not think that is it, though. The proxs are just registering the location of the boom. I can make the boom stop mid cycle by blocking either set of...

    Coinco Validator updates

CoinCos are cheap enought to keep spares. You can get refurbs from Amercian Changer cheap, cheap. I just bought 2 mag 52 sa units for $189 each. They were already upgraded for the new 5, so I am just swapping my others out. I have 20 CoinCos, with 8 spares that I have accumulated. (2...

    Unlimited s/s time/or 30 min.

Sequoia....I agree in your situation. My concept certainly is not for everyone. I have built on this for 8 years. And at my four it has incresed my business year over year for all 8 years. My ultimate goal is to get them in the lot, get some type of wash, get a couple vac cycles, maybe...

Boom error on Water Wizard 1.0

No, we did not do the cables, but based on some of the posts I will go ahead and order four cables Monday so that I can rule that out. We inspected all cables for any wear, but all appeared to be good. I just do not see how a cable can fail with no visible wear. But they are cheap, and I have...

    Thinking of a Shurvend

You might want to check www.vendweb.com. I have purchased three refurbished fawn/wittern group vendors from them. They are good as new, and they have the i-vend system. This system ensures delivery of product by a set of eyes in the bottom. If first spin does not drop product, then it spins...

Boom error on Water Wizard 1.0

dpessler.... I am not sure if it has a brake or not. I know it is an early 1.0, so I will check first thing Monday. What controls the brake? I had wondered if there was tension on the motor or shafts that was causing the error. An earlier post suggested that I place a piece of metal over...

All eyes and amps are new. Thanks for the input, though.

Actually I do advertise "wash as long as you want", then in the fine print "up to 30 minutes". Most every customer thinks it is a great value. I actually get a few guys in big suvs or pickups that double cycle ($10), and they think that is a great deal. The loop set up is fairly simple. You...

changer addition...rowe vs. hamilton vs. american

JMMustang......American has a 1000 bill box, too. I have those on all my units. They are metal instead of plastic. They are $75, I think.

No. I have double loops in the floor. When customer pulls out, timer resets. If two cars are in the bay, it will not work. If they try to run in nose to tail, it resets. Trust me, people have tried every which way to wash two on the same time. The result is always the same--magnetic loops...

changer addition...rowe vs. hamilton vs. american

Quick addition to previous post--- yes I have heard that CoinCo can be strung. But I use all tokens, even in my AC8001 auto cashiers. So nothing on site dispenses quarters. I have always figured that the best way to keep from getting strung, is to simply remove the contents for which the...

changer addition...rowe vs. hamilton vs. american

I use American Changers with CoinCo. The American hopper does not need a retrofit for tokens. I use all .90 high security tokens. The CoinCo works fabulous with 99.9% acceptance---always. As well, the CoinCos are cheap to repair/upgrade. I have several spare CoinCos because you can buy a...

No, actually they do really well. This is my edge in the marketplace. I have done it for over 8 years. It definitely draws the customers in. Many weekends my place is full, and my competitors that charge $2 for 4 minutes have dry bays. Remember, I am getting at least $5 from every...

    New $5 Bill Test Results

Someone told me that the $1 bill is getting redesigned in August. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that? I certainly hope not!

You guys are in NY. I am lower, slower Delaware. I have to keep it simple. My volume is still great at the $5. I suppose when I decide to do some facility upgrades I could use your approach. Thanks.

    Unlimited s/s time/or 30 min.

Is anyone still doing a variation of "unlimited time" in the s/s bays? I am still doing $5 for 30 minutes at my four washes. It has been a bit tough with utility costs sky rocketing. If anyone does unlimited, what have you done to help curb costs to offset utilities? I don't really want to...

Boom error on Water Wizard 1.0

There are no collars on the shaft, and it does shake pretty good. The machine was installed end of 02. I still think something is a little silly with this thing, in that we can not duplicate the error running the dry wash cycle. We can interrupt the boom from coming down at any point with the...
