Fleck System Brine Tank Overflowing Wasting Salt

We have 2 large Fleck Model # 3210s that interact with just one of the brine tanks that the water softeners came with. It also serves our laundromat & dog wash besides our self service car wash. This system we installed ourselves & is about 11 years old. We are noticing on the floor that salt...

Saving a few $$ with Zoro Tools

Even though I signed up email wise for their coupons several times... for some reason I do not get the email offers ... checked my spam filter so that is not it. So ..... I do appreciate it when Greg & others share their codes ... especially the very coveted 30% code!!!

New IDX X-12, shame on me

Randy & others, Ideally, coin mechs or its interface (Dixmor Hamilton or whatever) would have a cell phone like port on them that would allow the pulse rate or another minor firmware update from a laptop etc. Eliminating the need for special hardware(???) you refer to. This is the approach I...

    Cryptopay fleet card alternatives

We have some contractor customers who insist on not allowing any of their drivers to use cash. It is taken care of with Coinco paper tokens in our bill acceptors. I heard that to do that with MEI Bill Acceptors ... it is cost prohibitive. Most coin acceptors can be programmed to also take...

Biggest Pet Peeves --- and solutions

Debra Gorgeous (yes ... correct spelling?), When a customer demands to be able to use a credit card in the self service bay or on every machine in our laundromat. Solution: Spend a few moments to convince them of the long list of long term advantages for them when they use "waterproof dollar...

What do you use for accounting? Anyone use Quicken Home and Business? What Version QB

cityview, One thing if an operator did do like I suggest & you somewhat re-affirm ... the time invested would tend to be more of a one time investment because the changes required from year to year would usually require only a minuscule additional amount of time. I tend to steer away from...

What do you use for accounting? Anyone use Quicken Home and Business? What Version QB

cityview, I am just putting that out as a potential option for some of us. It is based on what I did & am still doing with some 2002 retail versions of Access that still works great in Windows 10. Being a software developer ... what is your educated opinion on how difficult to set up the most...

Airlift Door doesn't open trapping people inside?

Cityview, If it was mine, based on intermittent voltage drop situation I had on some rental property ... the local power company at no charge will put a monitoring device on your meter to make sure the problem is not on their end.

What do you use for accounting? Anyone use Quicken Home and Business? What Version QB

I tried both Quicken & Quickbooks. If any of you have the time to get acquainted with a database program preferably OPEN SOURCE ... IMHO it is the most practical way. You can still output to spreadsheet from reports so it seems so much more future proof.

    How to clean polycarbonate doors?

We watch the amount of dwell time if we resort to the stronger wall cleaner. We wash them very often so scum usually is not a problem like if we rarely washed & lightly scrubbed them.

    Theft/vandalism. Need advice

I got talked into $5K deductible by an insurance broker several years ago. I changed it back to $1K deductible as I felt a tough multiple claim year could be a problem ... many $5K incidents could add up to be a serious consideration. I was told by my most recent broker that I could switch in...

SIGN - "Garbage Can for Paying Customers Only"

Does your area haulers charge extra for discarded tires based on the size. Thoughts on this? This is an aggravation in our area. Don't get me started on describing the stench & flies from summertime discarded fish.

SIGN - No use if Meter Not running

pgrzes, I have never had to resort to actually having a police officer come down to get them to go for the specific "no using no go situation". Close to it but never had to. I'm curious how did the verbal exchanges go at that point when the officer came down. Some officers IMHO have almost...

    Making this a secure website

OurTown, Point well taken. I am not familiar with how much potential total cost a back end cyber attack vs what front end extra security would prevent at possibly less cost??? It seems there are 3rd party monitoring contracts happening out in the cyberworld that go beyond just the...

    Making this a secure website

Debra, JacksonV & others, Correct me if I am wrong ... but I thought the "secure" "padlock symbol" thing was mostly for Web Pages where items (E-Commerce) are being sold online & there is a CC info danger issue??? If the only problem is an isolated case of a somewhat dubious itself anti...

    Attempted Stringing in Lex. KY.

Many years ago, only once did someone attempt to string one of our two StdChangeMakers non MEIs. The taped bill shut down the changer. The camera right above the verifier showed the person & his attempts ... but the person was not someone we knew!

    Counterfeit Bills and bill changers

In over 30 years with Standard ChangeMaker's non MEI verifier version we have not had a single counterfeit accepted. Unless the bank missed one from us .... not likely. We were always careful to update the firmware as recommended which possibly has some bearing along with not going to low on...

    Leasing a Wash Facility

Not sure if this is a fair comparison but there is lot of leasing done in the laundromat ownership arena in parts of the country. Normally, what happens there I believe ... the lease is just for the land & building category items & not for the equipment that tends to be replaced from time to time.

Water heater gremlins strike in the dead of night

MEP001, Well said ... I hear you loud, clear & can more than relate! This specific interaction took place at their shop when I picked up Trane Unit Heaters for our bays that the "experts" were also the local master distributor for (a friend-mechanical engineer tipped me off to them). Like the...

Water heater gremlins strike in the dead of night

Some HVAC control experts showed me after a major purchase from them gave me some heat sink compound so each thermistor with insulation over them ... could accomplish similar as putting in wells.
