    Disc locks

Tri Flow is what we have had the best experience with for locks in general. We use carb cleaner on our highest end Abus's before relubing with red grease. It is a nightmare when locks no longer open when you need to get them open quick. Anybody have a current best source for the Masterlocks?

    Trough Advice

Thanks for catching that Earl. We have tandem bays which meant that we branched out so there is only 3 bays on each 4" PVC. What makes it so forgiving space wise is the fact that we can open the "hatch" via the stainless piano hinge at any spot including any vertical segments. We do not use...

lag time when switching options in SS

More lines to protect from freezing when you do it! Nick, As long as I.B. - Pat mentioned his insulation technique, you may want to consider the "more lines" to freeze factor in other ways also. We have weep on all our LP lines as well as the HP lines but we rarely use them because of our...

    Trough Advice

Bubbles - John, Ours are 4 inch PVC & we used continuous stainless piano hinge for access--- it was a project about 6 years ago. Like Earl mentioned about hose advantages --- we use good quality 3/8" braided HP hose. We keep labeled spares for the exact lengths that we need in case of an...

Which is the best smart phone

Bill P, So far so good with my Droid X. I think I gave you a quick look at the remote desktop & camera areas on its screen when you visited here in Bismarck last fall --- that larger screen is nice for something like that. I went from a Motorola Razr so I am still somewhat in awe of this new...

    In-Floor Heat Leak

SSW, I remember at our local home builders show the home inspectors & insulation people also had infrared thermal imaging devices. I would think that would be a really good rental device for the rental equipment businesses to rent for a half a day etc. If they got enough requests for it, I...

Bill Acceptor Paper Tokens or Whatever They are Called

quick dry ink? Thanks Earl, So in other words ---- you did not use the quick dry ink & there still was no smudging issue whatsoever??? We will give the sequencing some more thought. Since we recently got a really fast autofeed scanner with automatic OCR ---- it is possible we might be able...

Do I really need a sofetner and what size?

BigLeo, One thing to pay attention to is the pressure drop that will occur --- it usually says in the specs as cV. The softener before the Fleck Twins that we balanced the flows between the two ---- allows much better water pressure than our previous Ecowater twins. Some features can be...

Bill Acceptor Paper Tokens or Whatever They are Called

Thanks Earl, I was hoping you would respond since it was your lead last summer that kind of tipped the scale with going with the Vantage vs the Mars. I do still have 3 Mars 2612 that I will put to really good use ---- just not with coupons. You don't happen to have anything specific info-wise...

STEAM VAPOR CLEANING - Carwashing and Detailing Pros & Cons

Soapy, I notice you mentioned hard plastics. For the heck of it we used a small $100 steamer we saw advertised on a TV infomercial for our FRP self serve bay walls. It might have be the quality of the steamer but we gave up because of its lack of speed & effectiveness. Any thoughts? MJ

    Locking down pit grates

Keith & others, It seems like we need to have some type of a legal connection or protecton with the scrap yards that is maintained with law enforcement. Similar to what the pawn shops have to do with a picture of each customer & ID to help prevent stolen goods from being brought in. Everytime...

Bill Acceptor Paper Tokens or Whatever They are Called

Bill Acceptor Coupons or Certificates Users, Has anybody done anything at all with paper coupons for their Coinco Vantage's or for other brands? We haven't but hope to eventually. It would be nice to have our specific wash name more noticeable & even advertise a bit on them --- it seems like...

Identity & damage pay via credit card???

Hoops to out the ID from the card swipe??? Car Wash Credit Card Acceptors, I may have hit a sensitive note for a wide open discussion area --- maybe this is better addressed through private messages etc. It is also hypthetical --- but the occassional need to ID through a specific time...

Identity & damage pay via credit card???

Awhile back I was renting come equipment from a rental shop & the rental guy was telling me how they like it when a customer uses a credit card. He said the reason is if the equipment is messed up such as a painter using their personnel lift etc. --- ruining its appearance etc. ---- or...

Watch this when you need your butt kicked.

Bill P, Very inspirational! For any of us who have had close calls with our eyesight, it is even more deeply moving. I had thick glasses from 1st grade or so. Had cataract surgery in 1999 in one eye. Had the other eye done in 2009. It makes one want to slow down in one way & in another way...

    Removing Air Line Moisture

Washmee, Rudy, & our friend Mep001 & others, http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/Air-Cooled-Aftercooler-4UJG3 Using this aftercooler I wonder how tough it would be to do an aftercooler on an Ingersol Rand 2 stage. I notice that the Intercoolers (Rudy's) that I checked out the maximum rated...

    Honest customers

Sometimes my bank on lesser checks they will just stamp on back "deposit only" In our area for many years now, the banks tend to never release funds from a check to the person instantly. That is why I was thinking that there could be a time factor if the discrepancy was spotted online quick...
